The problem is you all don't know what the story going to entail, you're all assuming it's going to be this epic narrative which requires minimum 2 hours 30 mins simply down to who the characters are. Has no-one bothered to think it's possible the story they have in mind might not need such a long run time? Do you all want a bloated movie? Man of Steel could have used a good 15 mins cut.
2 Hours, and Thirty-Seven minutes.
Without credits.
Yep. This is the differentiator that actually matters with Snyder. His films have always had moderate length, so I don't think it'll be an issue. What causes concern is how he will allocate those several plot threads together into a cohesive viewing experience. MOS was arguably his worst paced and edited film thus far.I'd personally want 5+ hours, but that'll never happen.
I think they could probably get away with just under 3, depending on the pacing.
(but it'll probably be poorly paced, like most of Snyder's films, and the studio will probably ask for a shorter cut, about 2 hrs 40 minutes).

Looking at his credits I don't think he's the problem. The consistent factor here seems to be Snyder himself. Obviously it would be absurd to suggest he get off the director's chair, but I think it's reasonable to want him out of the editing room altogether. The man is born for short-form storytelling. Past that his flaws start to show.Brenner's gotta go.

I feel like if it were better written, it would still be awkwardly paced/constructed, but it would have less characterization and plotting issues, AND be more enjoyable.
Not to me, I loved every second of the Krypton stuff. We don't get to see that part of Superman's past all that often. Also, this is a VERY different Krypton, so it needed set up and seeing Jor-el, Lara, and Zod play off each other was a treat. You're right actually. Seriously, like 20 mins on Krypton? Talk about bloated.
^^^ I still don't think it will be able to compete, to be honest. It will do better than MOS, but Marvel movies (especially any Avengers sequels) have reached a level where quality isn't even demanded for them to make mass amounts of money. I use IM3 as an example. DC hasn't reached that. People expect Dark Knight level quality from them. While I respect DC for their recent stylistic choices, they did kinda shoot themselves in the foot by not doing lighter, kiddier movies. It's just much easier to produce those than to do what DC is trying to do now.
