Agent Coulson himself was the head of Project T.A.H.I.T.I., After his mind wipe.......apparently the project was tested on potential Avengers.....
My question since im sure this will be brought up in season 2

Who were the potential Avengers??

That's an excellent question. Whoever they are (or were :wow:), things didn't go very well for them by Phil's account ... had to have been other agents similar in skill to Barton (Hawkeye). Only far reaching speculation, but we could get a Quasar or similar origin out of season 2.

What I also still want to know is did anyone come up with a good acronym or find out the AOS official designation yet for:

T. =
A. =
H. =
I. =

Quasar......would be a good guess...
I'm also thinking Carol Danvers also.....
Its Kree based....and I'm sure InHuman Terigen Mist can be included also....
2nd season cant get here fast enough

They never said it was tested on an Avenger, only that it would serve to save as an Avenger. They probably just used test subjects

:woot: Just a big helping of speculation going on here on the potential fallout or season 2 outcome story arcs. I don't think either of us said "tested on Avengers". But they probably did take dead civilian "volunteers" or maybe some "KIA" or volunteer SHIELD agents (as I was loosely trying to imply). Can you just imagine that conversation between Phil and Tony or Cap that would be just terrible :yay: :

"Hey Tony/Steve we just want to inject you with some alien blood, other dangerous experimental substances and rip your brain open for a little while. By the way we will have to wipe your memory of this when were done, nothing serious I promise." And that was the last day of the AVENGERS Initiative program. Agent Coulson was never heard from again.

That's my understanding. They also probably used dead or dying individuals (I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they weren't the reason they were dead or dying).

No one ever said it was in experimental form on unwilling subjects.....it was as a last resort to revive a fallen Avenger...and knowing Fury...there had to be Avenger Candidates.....just saying

Well given that they used Blackout as a test subject, I'd wager that they could have been unwilling volunteers...

We'll probably find out that the research done on an unwilling Blackout and (yet to be named) others, had results that were taken and contributed to Project TAHITI's overall development (the show told us there were many sources of research). But I would guess that it was a separate compartmentalized research project that was kept from Phil Coulson's knowledge, when he was running Project TAHITI for Fury.

This is pure speculation but what was alluded to have happened to Blackout while in SHIELD (HYDRA controlled) custody has the fingerprints all over it of what Dr. Zola used to do to victims and test subjects in the comics. I for one am still hoping to see his character used in AOS. However, that does assume his electronic essence did not really perish in CA:TWS as we were lead to believe by that movie; which would be a big waste in my opinion, if he's really permanently gone.

No, but he was a SHIELD test subject.

I think it's more accurate to say he was a HYDRA test subject, though.

Yup....
But also......
Went back and looked at that episode....
Agent Coulson now Director said that there were test subjects.....
Who were they, and how did they come to be subjects of testing?
Were they on deaths door....???
So many questions

My assumption is dead or dying. People that had nothing to lose by the experiment (or so they thought, obviously the side effects were more severe than anticipated). This is more to give the benefit of the doubt to Coulson than anything on screen, though.

I can't imagine it'll ever be touched on again either. Who cares who the people were?

They never said they were potential Avengers, just that the serum could be used on one. There's nothing physically different between you, me and Stark, yet he's an Avenger

The
Avengers
Healing
Injection
Treatment
Initiative

(SHIELD likes the word Initiative)
Just my guess

It does seem that SHIELD likes the word "initiative", so I'd lay odds that you are at least right about what that final "I stands for.

I wonder if the test subjects were mortally wounded SHIELD agents. Coulson himself led two team that probably had high casualties leading up to The Avengers (in Iron Man and Thor). Assuming of course that this was primarily a SHIELD operation-- I know the part for seeing if it would work to bring back a fallen Avenger was, but the facility and alien might still have been some other agency's property. Those guards at TAHITI didn't seem to have SHIELD identity cards, at any rate.

Welcome aboard by the way TBG and Crow's Call!

I'm more curious what those alien writings are that Clark was last doing

That's a "weird side effect" that has definitely piqued my interest. I don't think there are any clues in the show about what it translates into, though. Circuit board diagram? Star map? Epic alien poetry? Recipe for skrull soup?

Coulson's wall art was huge-- way bigger than Garrett's door graffiti or the blackboard in that Russian place. Seems Coulson had a lot more to say, or knew how to say it better. Whatever it translates into, it has to be plot driving (so probably won't be the soup recipe).
