So what kind of things you think there going to do? The Same stuff they did last year? By putting the FF on all kinds of different products. Maybe Another commerial like they did with Magic Johnson. But with someone else this time.

Go gotta figure there going to have a big whirl wind promotional tour like they did last year. Going from Country to Country promoting it.

Then within a month or so there have the cast on all the talk shows promoting it. The Only person who really didn't go on any talk shows was Chris Evans. Hopefully there get all the main cast members on talk shows.

And perhaps a Autograph meet and greet like last year. Only this time have it more organized. And not have it rushed and everything out of place and have them there for like only 40 minutes. When they were suppose to be there a Hour and a half. But that was almost a year and a half ago so i'm over that now. And i don't know how many actually hypers were there.

Anyway if you have any ideas on what you would like to see fox do. Just post them in here.

I'd like to see some better theatrical posters this time around and really hope the FF extended cut gets released next year as well.

From THE NATION (Bangkok's Independent Newspaper):

Panithan takes Major Cineplex media role

Published on November 16, 2006

Major Cineplex Group has recruited Panithan Sethabutr, former managing director of KFC franchisee Yum Restaurants International (Thailand), to take charge of the company's reshuffling of its media business.

Effective from November 1, Panithan became president of Major Cinead, Major Cineplex Group's wholly owned subsidiary and provider of media services to business clients.

"We will keep up our strength as a total entertainment provider and cinema will be only part of our business portfolio," Kittsanan Ngamphathipong, CEO of Major Cineplex Group, said yesterday.

"We will head ourselves towards people's lifestyles."

The arrival of Panithan is expected to help Major sell screen adverts and to customise one-to-one marketing and interactive communications services for corporate customers.

"We would like to create a new media platform for business clients in communicating with their customers," Kittsanan said, adding that Panithan made fast-food fried chicken chain KFC successful in the local market.

Major Cineplex Group chairman Vicha Poolvaraluck said the group's media-service business was expected to generate sales of Bt600 million this year, up 15 per cent from last year.

"With the reshuffle, we expect to grow our media business by 30 per cent next year," said Vicha, who has known Panithan for almost 16 years.

"We would like to utilise our assets and create new value from them. We also have a strong customer base of young adults who have modern lifestyles and the habit of eating out."

Major Cineplex Group posted a third-quarter net profit of Bt189 million, up 20 per cent over the same quarter last year, on revenues of Bt1.3 billion.

Its nine-month net profit increased 43 per cent to Bt578 million on revenues of Bt3.8 billion. It expects full-year revenues to reach Bt5.5 billion.

Vicha said the board was quite satisfied with the third-quarter results amid many uncertainties, both political and economic.

"We are quite confident in the new movie line-up for this quarter including 'James Bond 007 Casino Royale', 'Eragon' and 'King Naresuan'," he said, adding that the release schedule for both local and Hollywood blockbusters next year was also quite strong.

Set to be screened next year are "Spider Man 3", "Pirates of the Caribbean 3", "Fantastic Four 2", "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", "Ocean 13", "Ong-bak 2", "Nong-Teng Nakleng Pukhao Thong 2" and "Bodyguard 2".

"We expect our ticket sales next year to grow by 15 to 20 per cent, while our bottom line is expected to grow by 30 per cent," Vicha said.

The group will open a 100,000-square metre Esplanade Cineplex on Ratchadaphisek Road, featuring major entertainment magnets such as 12 movie screens, a 22-lane bowling alley, ice-skating rink and 5,000-square metre California WOW fitness centre.

"We expect to open 40 more screens next year, including in Pattaya, Imperial Samrong shopping centre and Kaset-Navamin Road," he said.

Where the hell are the posters??? I guess they're holding back cause of the Silver Surfer. Remember the various comic book covers in the 90's for the SS. They had a cool holographic one that would be perfect for a poster. the first movies posters were kind of corny.

It will be interesting to see what they do for the first posters. If the Surfer is shown in the teaser Dec. 15th then I would think he'd be seen on the posters, too. Considering his name is in the title, I can't imagine they won't give us a look...

They will give us a look but I'm wondering if they want to first reveal the Surfer in the teaser and then releaes the posters???? It'd be cool if they had simple posters that just showed the Surfer and it said..."Who is the SS" like the Darkman promotions.

Article mentioning that Fox showed a FF2 promo back in October at Showeast. First time i'm reading this.

From boxoffice.com:

ShowEast 2006: Trailer Park
International distributors present upcoming release slates

At ShowEast’s distribution and marketing seminar this afternoon, United International Pictures’ Jorge Peregrino used the opportunity to answer exhibitors’ questions with regard to the split between Paramount and Universal on the international stage. The distribs have decided to dissolve their joint venture for overseas output and will launch separate international arms starting next year. The VP of sales and marketing for Latin America and the Caribbean for UIP explained that with the New Year the entity will become Paramount Pictures Mexico and Paramount Pictures Brazil in those two countries but still handle Universal titles through 2007. In all other Latin American territories, everything will stay the same.

But that was a bit of housekeeping business during a two-part event that focused on product, product, product, as the international branches of Buena Vista, Sony, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros. and UIP unspooled reels of previews for conventioneers.

Pixar’s upcoming Ratatouille roused laughter from the audience during Buena Vista’s presentation, while Sony culminated to applause with the much anticipated Spider-Man 3.

Later in the day, Fox treated attendees to exclusive content, including an intense, action-packed, virtually dialogue-free clip specially chosen from Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto; the first few minutes of Borat, since there’s no other way to convey the tone of the comedy/reality hybrid; a special greeting from Jessica Alba from the set of the Fantastic 4 sequel; and a scene from Night at the Museum hosted by star Ben Stiller and director Shawn Levy.

Not to be outdone, Warner Bros. presented a 10-minute sequence from Zach Snyder’s unique graphic novel adaptation 300 as well as 10 minutes from Happy Feet.

I want to see more hosted interviews early this time with a lot of the actors thoughts on how this film evolves from the first, which I am hoping it does of course and from what we have seen it has a lot.

PS I don't expect it but a poster of Galactus would be the bomb

^^I don't think we'll get any Galactus promos. His role seems to be small and it would be better to keep his appearance exclusively for the film alone but this is a Fox movie so they'll probably show us something beforehand.

I'm sure you guys have seen the new posters for POTC3 and 300. I hope FF2 gets something as eyecatching and unique as these. Anyone agree?

^^^^^^ What are you doing promoting the competetion in this thread? lol.:whatever: :woot:

I think we'll see lots of Surfer and Doom. The Surfer alone can have many product tiein's. Unfortuanly the way I see this going is more Surfer then anything else. We are middle of January. 5 months from opening. We should start to see things soon.

So there gonna basically promote it as SS movie. People might think this is good. But i tell ya the SS is gonna over shadow the FF. If people turn out to like the SS more. they might just stop making the FF films and start up with the SS movies already if people take a liking to him.

but hey i'm just babbling out of my A**. lol.:woot:

No they are not going to stop making FF movies. I said this all along. My greatest fear is Surfer overshadowing FF, like Nicholsons Joker, overshadowed Batman. And right now it appears my greatest fear is comming true.

Just an example of what the Fox marketing team should aim for. In terms of posters the bar has been raised since the first movie was released.

Well i'm sure thats gonna happen.

Nothing but Silver.:wow: :ninja:

The villain should always be an opponent that could wipe out the heroes or there's no point. They won't overshadow the heroes though.

I agree, but did the Green Goblin garner more screen time, or a portion of the title?

I understand that SS is not actually a villain, but should he garner as much or more screentime than the 4 themselves?
