Anyone know if there is a graphic novel for X-men collecting the stories with Proteus' fight against the X-men. Where he takes his fathers body and then tries to take over Colossus'?

The only things that I know have it in it is the huge Uncanny X-Men Omnibus, which is very expensive, and the Marvel Masterworks Uncanny X-Men Volume 4 I believe, which is dramatically less expensive. Those are the only ones that I can think of.

No problem. I actually have the Omnibus and the Proteus saga is actually one of my favorate stories of all time. If you like Proteus you should read an annual crossover from the early 90's called Kings of Pain. He was in it and it was really good. I believe the issues were New Mutants Annual 6 (last annual they had, whatever number that was), New Warriors Annual 1, X-Factor Annual 8 I believe, and Uncanny X-Men Annual 16 if I'm not mistaken. It's a really good story!

If you like Proteus, you might want to check out EXILES. During House of M, Kevin McTaggart and Moira were both alive. Although Moira ended up killing herself (to prevent Kevin from possessing her), Proteus not only managed to escape the 616 reality but got chased through several different realities by the Exiles, killing 2 of them in the process. Currently, he's been brainwashed to think that he's Morph, the 2nd Exile he killed & inhabited.

Of course, you never know when he might get his memory back .

Essential X-Men 2 has the original Proteus Saga and it costs a lot less than the Omnibus

I love that story. What great period in X-history and a key story for Colossus.

I thought X-Men: The Animated Series did a more interesting take on Proteus than the original story (which I have in my Omnibus, and I didn't really think that much of).

The cartoon's take was great. They focused more on Kevin than Proteus, which made it a more personal story. Some of my favorate episodes.
