PS3 Price Cut. Sony one ups MS yet again

According to some quick research, the average wage for a male in almost exactly 1000 (Ausie currency) a week, and your minimum wage is twice that of the United States (when converted into US dollars). Stop your complaining. :o

And apparently your country are a bunch of sexist bastards because it says that women on average recieve less pay for work compared to males who do the same job.

Sorry people:

Sadly, though, Sony is sticking firm with its North American PS3 plans. "In the US, we're comfortable with the pricing that we announced at E3--$499 for the 20 gigabyte version and $599 for the 60-gigabyte version," Sony Computer President Kaz Hirai told GameSpot. "There are no plans right now to adjust the pricing for the US market."
Though disappointed, potential PS3 purchasers in the US did get a bit of a consolation prize from Hirai. The executive confirmed that every 20GB PS3 worldwide will have an HDMI port, not just in Japan, as some had speculated.

You do realize that pretty much outside of Resistance most of those games do not come out until mid / late 2007. I am a Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, Tekken fan but I am certainly not going to rush out anytime soon after launch day to get a PS3 to play some games that wont come out for well over another year. I can wait to play Resistance thats just another FPS.

I can certainly agree with you there. I'm not even getting a Playstation 3 at launch. I'll be getting one with Metal Gear Solid 4.

Still dosent change the fact SONY are pushing a format I dont need or want.

I think that blu-ray, despite my prediction that it will fail as a movie format, will have great potential in the video game market.

It used to be a great design. That was many years ago. It not my fault SONY fans are so scared of change.

No, it still is a great design. Why fix something that ain't broken.

Yeah, 3 games announced so far that are even slightly interesting to me. Thats not worth buying the PS3 for.

THREE GAMES! The Playstation 3 has some good games going for it. Sure they won't come out for a while, but in the end it'll end up like the Xbox 360 and Wii. All three consoles will have great games.

Yeah... If you live in AMERICA. Seeing as the PS3 will cost $1000 here not to mention $120 to $130 for a game Its simply too expensive for what the PS3 is. A console which is seriously lacking a decent games list for me.

Oh yeah, you live in Australia. Ha ha, sucks to be you

Bull****. My complaints are valid. You are being ******ed for thinking that just because you dont agree with me that I am simply "*****ing for the sake of *****ing"

Well I forgot that you're an Aussie, Aussies still can complain because they get screwed over all the time in terms of prices.

Like I have said all along... I will be getting a PS3 but not until there are valid reasons for me to get one. Right now the pros are outweighed by the cons.

Hell, I'm not getting one until Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out. The price doesn't justify it.

Im sure they will cut the prices here in the US next Spring. They dont need to cut the prices now bc those 400,000 units will sell regardless of the price. They could add 100 bucks to it and Im sure they will still sell out. One the market settles down and the supply increases, then they will need to do something to push those units and a price drop then will be more likely

I am not sure how Sony has ever lost to MS. Statistically speaking of course, leave opinions out of it, how have they lost to MS?

& what can that possibly show for the PS3 when that comes out hmm ? If anything this show the casual gamer / consumer will go for the cheaper product & looking at how much it has been confirmed that PS3 games will cost. Sony will need alot of luck

LongDong, if you're too stupid too see how the 360 is clearly better then the PS3, may you leave?

Hey smart guy, you are in a SONY thread, why dont you show yourself the door eh?

We don't even need to go into the whole 360 / PS3 debate as most of what I read (aside from fanboy speak on here) the PS3 has way more to offer than the 360. SO what makes the 360 better? Really, just stop talking.

No really, start. Show me how SONY has lost to MS (aside from OPINION which this website is loaded with more than anything else) in anything.

I neve rmentioned the PS3, all I said was how the PS2 has outsold the 360 since day one.

I am sure the PS3 will do the same thing. Name brand goes pretty far in this world, and sorry but Sony is more popular than MS in the game world. Big deal.

How do you know people are not buying it just because its cheaper ? Its all opinion (which no one seems to know this word at all here at the hype) with who thinks who is better.

If price was the key factor then Gamecube wouldn't have flopped.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again-- Playstation is to games what iPod is to music. When people think games, they think of Playstation first.
