Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

It was everything I hoped it would be. What a great tease. This, Endgame and The Irishman are really the only three movies that truly excite me this year.

Odd thing of note, if true. Michael Caine allegedly was at one of these parties back in the day, and he said Tate was introduced to Manson at that party, but other folks said he completely made it up, but don't know why he would do that. Eh.

Yep he put it in his autobiography, but everyone else disputes it. Who knows, but if Tarantino can get that in a scene, complete with Taron Egerton probably as a young Caine, he'll do it!

This looks incredible! Loved the acting so far and the actor playing Bruce Lee is so so spot on. Cinematography and production values look terrific!!

I get all of this, bald man. I just feel these things hold more weight depending on who says it tho. Michael Caine doesn't seem like the type who would make that up, but then again, I bet he was high af during that time, just like everyone else. Young Michael Caine was a smooth playa, panties dropped in every direction.

How many unneeded uses of the n-word will this movie have this time.

Leo is truly a cool guy. He never gets enough credit for how wacky he acts in a lot of his roles.

Well, I certainly think he gets the credit he deserves. He gets to pick his projects, he’s lauded with award nominations, he gets acclaim. I wouldn’t be too worried about him.
Well that's true actually lol. I still can't believe it took so long for him to win an oscar though. Should've won for The Wolf of Wall Street if you ask me

I mean he gets credit but you don't hear fanboy raves like you do with Bale or someone like that there.

If Leo were to someday play a superhero, who should it be? I remember he was loosely tied to Aquaman years ago because of his production company or something but I don't think there were ever rumors of him taking that role. The above gif makes me think he could actually take over Iron Man when RDJ hangs it up (and if Tony doesn't die in Endgame).

I agree, he would make a great Lex. Or, at the very least, he wouldn't be any worse than EisenTurd.

I think the chances of Leo being in a superhero movie are remote. Unless Scorsese decides he’s going to direct one.

Should've won for The Aviator or The Departed (which he wasn't even nominated for) well before that.

He'd do one for Nolan, but that ship's sailed. :hehe:

Yeah, if you have an auteur doing something really special he'd be interested. He's shown no interest in franchise commercial filmmaking though his whole career, so I doubt that is about to change now that he is out of his "optimal" action hero years.

Without getting into spire territory can anyone give me the thrust of what the film is about? It's a period piece sure but outside of this being in the late sixties of Hollywood with BTS drama what's the whole thing about?

No one really has a clear answer. The next full trailer will no doubt set up the story. Dicaprio and Pitt characters live next door to Sharon Tate. You add that and the fact of Manson and his followers are cast in the movie, and folks, various articles run wild with a story they make up in their minds. This is also a lot closer to Pulp Fiction in style. I believe Tate will have her own chapter etc. Also, the Pitt and Leo characters are based on the real life friendship of Reynolds and his stunt double Hal Needham. They were also nicknamed the 'Cocaine Cowboys' of Hollywood for their wild lifestyle and partying. lol

Interesting. Thanks.

Wasn't the rumor Q wanted Burt in this before he passed?
