Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Well, it's certainly a teaser, but think it was pretty great as one. Gives me the great acting and dialogue I expect from a Tarantino film. And yes, that Bruce Lee is solid.

Now, thinking about Sharon Tate, do we think she actually dies? This being Tarantino, anything could happen.

Really enjoyed that teaser, especially the Bruce Lee bit and the bit at the end with Leo. This looks like its going to be a lot of fun honestly.

This gif here. This one moment is now going to be my go-to gif for everything.

You can get away with killing Hitler. Manson? Not so much.

I mean, there's a huge probability he'll play the Sharon Tate murder straight, but I wouldn't rule out anything yet. Is Manson really more touchy than Hitler?

How he never did a biopic is beyond me.

"I kill you, I go to prison." I just enjoy how serious he is about that line and the beat before Pitt responds.

I feel like it’d be a bit distasteful to do some quirky Inglorious Basterds deal with the Manson murders.

Then again it also feels a bit distasteful to play them straight in a quirky comedy-drama.

But who knows. The movie has cast all of the victims and perpetrators, though.

Whelp, I already wanted to see it but that is now my most anticipated movie of 2019.

P.S. If anyone gets offended by Manson getting killed off by one of the "heroes" in this film, it says more about them than the movie, because the world would have been a much better place if he had been "manslaughtered" on a set.

I keep forgetting Kurt Russell, Tim Roth and Al Pacino are in this as well

Given what he did with Hitler in Inglorious Basterds, I wouldn't be surprised if she kills Manson.

I really, really hope he doesn't do that.

I've seen people make the Hitler argument (for lack of a better word), but Hitler is history's greatest monster. Having the basterds kill him was cathartic for the audience, a way of spitting in Hitler's face. But I think it would be in very poor taste for Quinton to make it so that Tate kills Manson. Because the Manson family really did murder her. As much as her family would wish her fate could have been reversed, it can't. And I think it's important to be respectful of that. Sharon Tate was a real person, who had a real and awful thing done to her.

Wait, who doesn't want to see Manson get killed in this movie? Isn't that why we're all looking forward to it? :o

Read my comment. I think I give a good reason not to do it.

The issue isn't so much not wanting to see Manson die, it's that I don't think they should make it so that Tate lives, or worse, is the one to kill Manson. Using her in such a fictionalized way just seems wrong to me.

Like with killing Hitler in IB, it's based on whether or not there's an artistic purpose to it, rather than the filmmaker just trying to stake out a moral position (and this is Tarantino, staking out moral positions is not exactly what this cat is about).

I don't see any problem with Manson getting killed in the film. There are many "what if" stories in various media.
