Days of Future Past Question about DOFP Premiere in NYC on May 10th

Premiere is at the Javits Center (where they hold NY Comic Con), from 4-8pm. You can register here, first 500 people on line get a pace on the red carpet AND get into the screening:

I have no idea if that means everyone else gets to see anything, but I just reserved tickets anyway.

Danoyse, thank you so much for posting this. I would have never thought there would be a registration, and would have been SO disappointed if I couldn't go because of this. I got my tickets for me and my family.

No prob! I'm guessing that everyone will need to be there super-early to get to be in that first 500...so it should be a long Saturday!

I might not be able to get in, at least not the screening. My sister and her hubby are hosting me, and they are less-than-enthused about going--I think they'll be offended even if I say I'll go solo and they don't need to worry about me.

So...yeah. I might be able to convince them to go in at four, but to stand around all day waiting? *sigh*

At least I'll be able to see the festivities before the show, and that will surely be an event if they're going through these lengths and allowing costumes and so forth.

There are a few of us signed up now, and we're all worried about the same thing! There's going to be tons of people there, I'm not counting on being one of those first 500. But if they're planning an event at the Javits, then it will still be worth checking out, I hope!

I'm not camping out but I'll try to get there early Saturday. Didn't have enough time to get a costume, but I love to see people dressed up!

I'm not sure when it this sold out, but it is sold out. I wonder how many people got tickets.

Ah sold out, that's a good thing. They did have a cap afterall, I was a bit worried. I'm guessing 1000-1500 or so?

Yeah, no idea how many people got tix or showing up.. just got that email, too... ...can't find any further info as to how many people are expected. With all the publicity, press, and word of mouth, I can only imagine this is gonna be HUGE. Just think, with the built-in audience of the X-fans, fans of cbm, fans of the stars, and just regular movie goers all combined in one venue? I plan on camping out 'cos I HAVE NO LIFE. I just dont wanna look like a total idiot if I'm the only one in costume. Then again, that could be a good thing.

--- and I used to scoff at people who camp out for a Star Wars movie! And people who camp out to get the new iPhone. ..!

Geez, god I hope this is all worth it. I dont wish for a good movie, with the continuity issues, I just hope its a "not too horrible" movie.

It's all in good fun! Do what makes you happy--and by the way, if you dress up and I see you, I'm gonna gush over you. Just because I couldn't get anything together in time doesn't mean I don't love seeing the people who did.

When will you get there? Or how long are you planning to camp? My girlfriend is probably gonna dress up, and I'm sure there will be quite a lot of people dressing up so don't worry.

Im gonna scope the place out on Thursday afternoon, and go from there. I sure as heck hope no one is there on Thurs. If nothing, go back on Friday. Ill prob camp out Friday, whether or not there are already people on line. Thursday's a long shot. I mean, its not exactly Ep. VII, but I wouldnt put it past some diehard, crazed X-fans.

I'm coming from Jersey City, just a few minutes away from NYC. So if I camp out Thurs/Fri/Sat, I can just have someone (hopefully my bro) relieve me here and there, and not stink like a hobo. And no way in hell am I gonna camp out in costume.

Cool, I hope I see people dressing up. Ive never "suited up" for a movie premiere, just conventions.

Anyone suiting up as the movie versions?? TWayneP, who are you / your girlfriend dressing as?

Does anyone an extra ticket they might not use or need? I wish I knew about the free tickets sooner I'd totally would have waited a day early to be one of the first 500 people there. You'd be totally saving my ass if anyone can help hell I'll save you a spot on the line if anyone comes through

I didnt know about this either hahah I avoided the DOFP thread cause some people were not using the spoiler tag so I missed out on it. I did one contest but didnt win and just found a few expired contests...ahh well lol

Should be a fun experience though to those who go
