Just a question here but how does an actor gets the role of a huge movie like the batman series? I mean how did Bale got the lead role, did he auditioned for it or did warner just called him and said: you want to be batman?

Apparently, Nolan had him in mind from the beginning, based on his long record of work, acting abilities, and diversity of roles.

Sometimes it's up to a casting director who goes for type, sometimes actors campaign hard for the role once they hear of it or get the script, and get the project made based on their star power.

Ultimately, it comes down to the Executive Producer(s) and the Director. The Casting Director is given instructions as to what he's to look for and he decides according to those guidelines.
