You're missing my point. I'm not questioning on how they come to know of our alphabets.

My question is that unless Kryptonians use the same set of alphabets we use, does it really matter how we spell Krypton? Wouldn't Cripton serve the same purpose?

Take your name, for example. Would it matter to you how it is properly spelt in Arabic alphabets or Chinese characters?

Ah, another easy one: It can be chalked up to a little bit of "pride". Would it "matter" if my name was spelled right in Arabic? In the long-run, no. BUT, if someone was "introducing me to the world" via a headline story in a major paper, I sure would want to be as acurate as possible. And I think he was doing it to impress Lois a little too.

And C.Lee, I think that line should have been axed from the film. Even the writers probably scratched their heads once they saw it play out in the film.
