I will be seeing both (I will in fact be seeing X3 opening night). While I am a huge x-men fan (glad to see that they're giving colossus a bigger part in this one) I have to go with Superman Returns simply because the original film is one of my all time favorites and the most recent trailer blew me away. Is Kevin Spacy not the most perfect guy to play Lex Luthor? It'll be interesting to see which of the two films makes more money since X3 has a months head start.

Superman returns is shaping up to be the typical hero saves the day kind of film.

While x3 has enough shocking moments and controversies to grab hold of you,Superman returns seems to be following the same old route of the previous films.

why lex luthor again taking over the world? This plot seems to be in every superman movie. Can't they get a better villian to match up with superman's powers?

bryan singer made some changes to the film like lois being a mama and has a kid,but everything else is like your typical superman film.

It's just the same old lois and clark story but with a new different cast this time around.
The real problem I see there is that they've had 20 years to come up with something different & they're rehashing what's been done before w/the same characters. Even "Smallville" has Lex teaming up w/Brainiac. That would be something. And does Lex HAVE to kidnap Lois? Is there no other way to force a confrontation w/Supes?

X3 by a long shot.
I can already tell it is going to be a wayy better movie.

X3 deals with real-world problems such a racism, etc.
Superman Returns is just.................

1. Problem.
2. Superman saves the day.
3. Happy ending.

Pretty much what CoreyIan said.
It's funny how some people like to say that the Spider-Man movies rip off Superman & others say ALL comic movies rip off Superman, but only Superman really has that "Save the day" factor. The others have pyrrhic victories.

Both these flicks piss me off....

but Sr pisses me off a LOT less then X3.

How the hell can you kill cyke in an adaption of the dark phoenix saga

Superman, just because it's been 20 years since we've seen him last.

Also, X3 looks VERY BAD in spots. Heck, that Sentinel scene looks like it was shot in my basement. I hope both films deliver though, since I'm a fan of both............

I'll either agree or disagree with you...once I see the effing film.

You're arguing particulars on a movie none of us have seen. And a film you don't even want to see. I'm not saying you'll be wrong - you could very well be right - but there's no way to even know until June 30th.

Or until I finish reading the novel. :o

felt like to me that he was so offended by the idea that someone might bash x3, that he felt the need to bash SR in return

1-that's what everybody here is doing; arguing particulars. Did you say anything to The Batman about his knocking X3? I'm arguing particulars that have been brought to my attention, that I don't happen to agree with. And who knows? I could be completely wrong. I could end up liking the movie-having either broken down & taken my kids to see it or just waiting for it to hit cable-as much as I do the :spidey: flicks. And if so, I'll own up to it. But of all the speculative remarks being made on this thread, why would you single out mine?

I didnt knock X3. And frankly, from reading about the novels, hearing about the rushed runtime, and KNOWING my favorite X-Man's gonna get killed off for no good reason and getting replaced by wolverine, i think its fair for me to say that X3 spits all over the dark phoenix saga. The movie could be excellent, but the fact is, details about SR are less infuriating than details about X3, simple as that.

1 of many reasons why I don't read the novel beforehand or download scripts or spend much time on the spoiler forums; I like to let the movie entertain me & not ruin my enjoyment by knowing the ending.

It looks like my vote just tied it, lol
anyway i gota go with X3, I'll most likely see both but, I am very exicted about X3, not so much about SR

1 thing I will admit; I love that bit w/Lex telling his plan to Lois & then baiting her to say Supes will stop him.
Lex: "Go ahead; you can say it."
Lois: "You're insane."
Lex: "No-the other thing."
Lois: "Superman will never let you-"
Lex: "WRONG!!!!!!!!"
That is hilarious! If I have any reason to think that SR just might prove me wrong & turn out to be a good movie, it is Kevin Spacey.

Broke the tie with X-men. BTW, That whole WRONG!! Thing is one of the reasons i'm not looking forward to SR. Singer seems to love all the terrible aspects of the Reeve films.

Superman Returns.

I'll see both, but so far I'm extremely skeptical of X3.
