Quirks

    What sorts of neurotic habits do you have?:yay:

    Mostly I try to keep them under wraps, but here are some of mine:

    - Whenever I'm in public and have to put in a password,or PIN number, I change it as I'm typing it in my head, in case someone might be reading my mind.:o :ninja:
    - I always have to have my own spoon, fork, and cup that only I use. Otherwise I just use plastic ones as I like to have my own stuff and I think it's gross to use other peoples.:o
    - I always like to feel balanced out in terms of touch. So if I rub up against something, like a piece of cloth or whatever, I'll try to duplicate the feeling on the other side of whatever part of me touched it so that it feels "even"
    - If I'm going somewhere and I realize I'm moving in the wrong direction, I'll usually walk around and find another way back, rather than turn around and walk back the way I came. Unless I don't have time for that bull****.

    It's not OCD as I don't have to do it if I don't want to.:o

    If say I'm trying to go East on South St., but I'm supposed to be going West, I'll probably just cross the street and go back West, unless it's closer for me to go back on the same sidewalk. But if it's not something important, and say the light allows to cross the street, I'll just do that, as I prefer more fluid movement.:huh:

    I thought I was all alone in doing that. How lovely.

    I have a quirk. When I'm driving, I'm always looking behind me to make sure no one is following. I do this all the time. Could I be possibly insane?yes

    If I'm at someone else's house, I'll use theirs if I have to. But it makes me uncomfortable.

    -I'm very picky with my food. I'll only eat some carrots out of a bag, the ones that 'look right.' I'll do it with m&ms, peas, etc.
    -I get paranoid that someone can hear my thoughts, too. If it happens when I'm thinking bad things about people around me I'll change my thoughts to 'lalalalalaa.'
    -Scratching denim with my fingernails gives me the heebies, but I can rake a chalkboard with no problem.
    -I have trouble understanding the words that I hear (like aural dyslexia) and often times my brain invents something to fill the gap. This leads to me thinking everyone around me is saying crazy things. "Kitty, can you take out the trash?" I hear "Sh**y can you eat some mash?"
    -I have strange associations. Cauliflower tastes like Christmas, certain carrots taste like evergreens, green m&m's taste like hugs, etc.

    That's all I can think of. I'll ask my husband, I'm sure he can name some.

    We change the make and model as well as the driver of the tail car quite often to keep you from figuring out which car it is that's following you. :up:

    Is that really a quirk though?
    Almost everyone does it. Although it's kind of odd when you see someone doing it in public. Like during the middle of a speech or something.

    Oh! I thought of another one.

    For at least a week after I finish reading a novel, I narrate my own life in my head- like I'm reading a novel about what I'm doing all day. I don't realize I'm doing it most of the time, but I can't stop even when I do realize it.

    I get songs stuck in my head a lot, but that's normal. I get phrases stuck, too.
