I have a few pairs that I own, but one that I usually wear to work, which I've been doing for the past few months. Now all of a sudden I look at them, and those bastards are splitting apart. I may have to start getting more than two pairs to wear to work, because I walk about a mile to and from my building everyday, so they're a little worse for wear. How often do you peeps purchase shoes?

May get some of these today. I'm all about the Skechers. :o

I buy Cole Haan dress shoes. They wear-out less easily.

However, the answer your question. I buy sneakers once a year, boots once every two-three years, and dress shoes every three to five years.

Cole Haans made with Nike technology last quite a long time. But the price is $$$$.

I buy Steve Maddens on the regular...they just have tight styles I like. Also, I'll rock just about anything by Aldo.

I'm really partial to Merrell Jungle Mocs because they form very nicely to my extremely wide feet and, once they're broken in feel like I'm wearing slippers all day long. They make them in several colors and material styles including a polished black suede that is very dressy. They're the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, and also the most durable and I've got four different pair in various colors. My five year old pair of nu-buc colored ones are still going strong even though they got relegated to yard work duty some time ago. Can't recommend these shoes enough.

Tell me about wide feet.

I have so much trouble finding a pair of sneakers that will fit properly. As you know, Jag, one can not enjoy his or her cardio if one does not have proper sneakers.

this thread is funny.

skechers saved my life in london

Shoes are for pansies.

Being built like a stump has some serious drawbacks. Clothes nearly always have to be altered, shoes that fit are hard to find, uncomfortable on planes because your shoulders are too wide for the seats. The worst, though, is the shoes. There's nothing worse than wearing shoes that hurt your feet. I had to give up snow-skiing because I just can't find any boots that fit my foot properly and don't leave me screaming in pain after wearing them for ten minutes. :( Try those Merrell's, dude. I think you'll like 'em once they get broken in.

Believe it or not, big guy, Cole Haans have the same feeling, I suspect.

Also, Adidas have intergrated a "wide" selection to their shoes. Also, some are made with mesh, and the mesh stretches to fit my foot.

I hear you on the snow boots. I always wanted to ice skate, and when we got a rink in my home town, I tried it out. Needless to say, I screamed in pain as you did with the snow boots.

However, I will try the Merrells the next time I need a casual looking shoe.

Edit: I'm going to pick up my altered jeans soon. My inseam is horrible! :( I have to buy 30 inch length, and then cut off like 4 inches.

I'll keep an eye out for some Cole Haans. I have very little need for true dress shoes these days since my job is very casual, but Brass Boot has some very nice wide options available in their dress shoe line. Next time you go to the ice rink, ask for some hockey skates. Those are usually wider and sometimes, depending on the brand and make, you can find a pair that are tolerable to skate in if you have wide feet.

*I don't buy shoes very often,I have so many they get such a good rotation that they don't wear out much. The only thing I can't seem to keep up with is house slippers. I can't find a pair I like that last.

I want to know what kind of shoe Drakon wears.

Meh, they are extremely comfortable and keep my feet cool. They're also great for hiking up rocky rivers.
