Now, people hating rap and hip-hop is somewhat understandable. But why do some people hate R&B, I mean it's just singing.

I like Rap when it's wicked, but I loathe "R+B", 'cause the freaking singers couldn't stay on one note for more than 1.8 seconds if you held a gun to their heads.

For examples, please note every time Whitney Houston or some "R+B" singer sings "The National Anthem" and it takes them 30 seconds to sing the word "Oh".

Amen. I hate that crap.

I don't dislike any genre. I think there's good and bad in all of them.

I'm not a big fan of R&B but i don't hate it either.

Old Scool R & B is ****ing kickass:

Stevie Wonder
Bob Marley
Barry White
Sam Cooke
The Supremes
The Temptations
The Four Tops
Kool & The Gang

I can go on for hours.

Modern R & B, however, is no different from a lot of rap. It's basically rambling on and on about sex and ass to me.

I like some of nearly every type of music but there's also a lot of rubbish within each type. It's not surprising that some people dislike a particular type of music.

There's a time and a place for polka. Unfortunatly, I don't actually know the names of the songs, I just know the good ones because they make me get out there and dance. :yay:

Well Polka-Cover-Medleys are a separate genre.
What a thriving genre it is too.

pretty lame that I keep seeing the title of this thread and automatically, involuntarily, I hear it to the tunes of "Cherokee Nation", "Buffalo Soldier" AND even "Babylon Sisters". :csad:

Cherokee Nation and Buffalo Soldier are R&B?

Babylon Sisters

There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times, and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you

Most r&b nowadays consists of the same lyrics. I cheated on you, you cheated on me. Girl, I want your body, boy, I want your body. I can treat you better than he/she can. Granted, a lot of songs in country and rock focus on romance, but I like songs that have some more depth, like the old school Stevie Wonder where he talked about socially relevant stuff. You want to hear some good r&b/soul, check her out.

Sadly I left my Good Times/Laughter in my other pants.

Like you said there just singing or Karoke.

There not real artist like real bands who write, create music and work harder.

They do write and create their music. Don't sit there and say all rock groups play their own stuff, because we all know the story about that.
