R.i.p. Trl

So they've finally decided to dump the whole "music" thing and stick to quality programs like "Maui Fever". Great move, MTV. :whatever:

In the very beginning, TRL (or whatever the early incarnation of TRL was called) consisted simply of Carson Daly standing in that studio alone, in front of that television montior and introducing the videos from 10-1. I believe there were a few instances when he would answer a call from a viewer but for the most part the show was simply of Daly and the videos.

Dude, that was the primetime show. That was not TRL. Atleast not technically.

IMO, the only quality thing on MTV these days are those True Life Documentaries.

I used to watch TRL pretty much everyday back in '99. They had some decent music. Then they forced took Tom Greens Bum song off the charts because it made it to No. 1. There reason was that they never expected it to make it that high, & they wanted room for "real music". That is when I stopped watching. I mean it is called TRL total REQUEST live. That is when I started to notice that MTV was just pushing artist on there that the record industry had paid them to push.
