The State of Music Videos today.

Michael Jackson's videos or short films as he calls them are completely in a league seperately 10 levels above all other music videos. with the exception of a few gay ones like ChildHood. Usually there is no point to a video other than hearing the song. the videos offers nothing extra, but MJ's videos are completely freaking awesome. any music critic would agree that his videos are the best.

Austin also used to have the AMN, Austin Music Network. It was funded by the city, therefore it had no commercials. It was charmingly low-tech as well. The VJs were cool and strange and the network played a lot of local videos and videos by lesser know non-local artists. They also played a lot of classic videos. But about a year ago the city council voted to cut funding for the network and it went off the air. That really pissed me off. I'll never forgive Brewster McCracken for that.
