Radio host uses the N-word repeatedly

It would be stupid to openly display. Look at how people react to the Rebel flag when it's displayed in the South. The Confederacy died over 100 years ago and people are still disgusted by it. The Third Reich was crushed over 60 years ago so yeah people are still going to be disgusted by it. Ironically , by recoiling in disgust by it they're still keeping that evil alive.

She said that it has been thrown around...that does not automatically equal that she was called the n-word. The truth is that Laura cut her off and we do not know the true context...and I prefer to not invent one.

The fact she wouldn't let the caller finish her point indicates she was categorically dismissed using the n word by white people as automatically acceptable "because HBO does it". IF she had patience or any sense of understanding she would have waited for the context, but she indicated the context didn't matter to her.

And it's still going on. Roswell Georgia is the home of the KKK I believe. From what I hear the Grand Dragon is a politician. I bet he likes to use the n word, and Dr laura's defense is that it's okay because people shouldn't be so sensitive about it.

Being anti-Klan is not awful like being pro-Klan is. You can't even compare the two.

The swastika is a great example. It is actually an old Hindu religious symbol. The Nazis used it for entirely different purposes. These days, when a Hindu person has a swastika, it is deemed offensive...when in reality the symbol has NOTHING to do with Jews or Nazis. Again, context is everything. I refuse to surrender my life to symbols and letters.

So you expect a Jewish person to nod and smile when someone raises a nazi flag on their property to teach them to be less sensitive.

I wouldn't blame them one bit for being offended. And I sure wouldn't try to teach them about being more sensitive by raising ten more nazi flags.

This black lady was complaining about her boyfriend's verbally abusive friends and the radio host responds by using the N-word repeatedly. Would she respond the same way if the caller complained about being called stupid or a ****. Of course not. The caller is expected to endure the verbal abuse only because it has to do with racism and every conservative knows racism was simply invented by black leaders to get rich and famous. That 400 years of institutional racism, slavery and terrorism? No big deal. Pretend it never happened.

Well....I've never called anyone that and never plan to...so I'm not complaining.

But I would think that some people are pretty confused....they listen to music where it is used, they see people smiling and calling each other that with no problem...and then they use the word and they are the most evil stupid disrespectful person ever.

We as a country will never move on when it comes to the whole "race issue" because we continue to divide ourselves in terms of skin color. I'll always consider myself just an American even though I'm Creole(French , Black and Native American) and Japanese. My grandpa enlisted into the US Army even though his family was put into an internment camp just so Japanese Americans could be called just Americans.

If it's a child.....I can understand the confusion, an adult should know better., You don't assume that what's cool between one group of people is cool with everybody.

Many in the black community protested the rapper Nas's decision to call his album N*****. Some civil rights leader interrupted Eddie Griffin's comedic skit because he kept using the N word.

However, many blacks realize that this word is quite pervasive in our culture, its been embedded into black culture for over century due to slavery/segregation/terrorism...etc... Think about it...you've been raised in a society to think of yourself a second class citizen in all walks of life. Some blacks feel they can only relate to each other by implicitly calling each other a term that indicates the struggle, oppression, or condition they feel they have to endure for the rest of their lives. Many would argue that blacks call each other n word because they think that's what they deserve...that's what life set out for them.

Many black people (Group A) feel sorry that other blacks (Group B) continue use that word as disappointing.

Now how would those Blacks (Group A) feel when they hear white people argue that because Group B continues to denigrate themselves...white people should be allowed to do it too.

All people give a crap about is skin color? It's just one thing on the list. The Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland were the same skin color...didn't keep them from killing each other.

People everywhere find something to make themselves seem superior and everyone else inferior...whether it be religion, skin, eyes, hair, height, the way they wear thier hat, or if they like the Twilight movies or not. We have people on here who hate each other because one likes Tom Welling and the other doesn't....bet they never even considered what thier skin color was.

There's no problem with gays calling each other fa**ot. It seems only when it comes to the N-word do whites get slur-envy.

As naive as it sounds, I believe that this nation is not as racist as some people think, but there's still a lot of work to be done. I believe that America has made great progress in race relations and I continue to remain optimistic about this nation; the world, even with all hatred.

Nope, but it's not banned word that black people are fighting/complaining to use again either.

Funny thing is most black people who use the word know other black people who are offended by it and DON'T use it around them out of respect. Not sure why some people of other races can't just do the same.

Treat people as individuals.

Respect their wishes to not be called something they find offensive.

Understand that what you say and how you say things can invoke different reactions in different people.

I'm white. I'm not arguing for white people to have the right to use it. I argue for no one to have the right to use it.
