Raimi in Seclusion

Sam's alright, not fantastic, his innovations with his early work were much greater, whilst I wasn't necessarily a fan of his work, I respected his methods, he has shown some good promise with a bigger budget, wouldn't call him a master of his trade, but I'm glad he's there.

Sam really knows how to make an entertaining, exciting and extraordinary film! He doesn't only focus on the action, but also on the emotional and romantic aspects... And that's what I like about his spider-man movies. They all have that special feeling.

Excellent work, Sam! :)

As much as I like Raimi, and as much as Elfman's an idiot(The poster), he is right...no one really cares about the director unless your name is steven spielburg, james cameron, george lucas, etc. People only really just want to see snippits of the movie, behind the scenes stuff, etc. IMO, they dont really care about the actors and director talking in depth about the characters

What a pointless topic.

Still, you're posting on it :o
I thought we were talking about Spidey films, as far as the dvd's featurettes show, the guy likes the character. I think there's nothing pointless in pointing that out to create a topic.
Your post, however, THAT is completely pointless.

Now move on and go see Pirates of the Caribsh**

D!

Tell that to Lucas and Spielberg. Lucas promoted the Star Wars movies more hardcore than anybody, mainly becuz he lets the fellas at ILM do all the work for him. Spielberg can do whatever he wants, cuz he's Spielberg. I simply respect Raimi because he knows that this is his baby, and he wants it to be a total masterpiece.

Absolutely!

I must admit Raimi is a great director and has handled the Spidey movies really well. All I ask is that he doesn't pull a Ratner and kill off Venom.

Thank you Sam Raimi for 2 (And probably soon to be 3) awesome Spidey flicks :D

I was tricked by this threads title. I though it was going to be about rami in seclusion due to the fact that Avi Arad and Co killed the Spidey 3 he wanted to make.

Just imagine, a month ago we were all so excited about this movie and everyone was praising Raimi before the movie even opened. Now, every other thread is about how the movie/cast/studio/crew/Raimi sucks. lol

I have to say... sorry, mission failed. Better luck with the Director's Cut.

I still love Raimi and the cast. I just hate the fact that it always comes down to money. If they would have just let him do the story he wanted to ( sandman/ gg2 ) it would have been great. He was forced to do things that he didnt want to. It wasnt about what the fans want. It was all about Venom = more money

There are so many more stories to tell though. Kraven, Jackal, Lizard, Mysterio for god sakes.

That's just the tip. I'm glad they got Venom out of the way. They did a nice job, but a Kraven, Lizard movie will continue to bring the S-M movie vibe to 70's comics roots. With 2009 Special Effects that will be an incredible movie going experience.

Mysterio Movie, with Mary Jane making it to Hollywood and Spidey having to fight in California? Fun moving going.

And of course the infamous clone sage, Jackal and all, Miles Warren/ Against Connors maybe?

Maybe the clone saga and Lizard in same movie.

Truth be told, with how much work he's putting into this one, I do think he's preparing for the possibility of this being his last. Nothing definite, but he's definitely ramping up to an end of his directoral reign on Spidey, or a break from Spidey for a while.

And you know something, I'll gladly wait for Raimi to direct something else before another Spidey. He delivers. I'm more than glad to wait for him and let him have a breather.

Yeah...and he deserves more than a break if you ask me. Sony or Columbia should give him a bonus or something, give him different projects that he likes wether he's directing, producing, whatever. But ofcourse he needs a vacation first which sony should pay for, as long as he wants. Raimi's a genius. All hail SAM! :yay:
