Looking at the blurry footage we're seeing from the Comic-Con trailer, in one scene it looks like a bulked up Spider-Man manages to land a solid punch to the face of Sandman.

If I recall correctly, though, in Spidey 1 there was a scene from the robbery chase where wrestling-ring spidey lands on the rooftop in a more classic Spidey-type landing. When we saw this particular clip in the trailer, it was Spidey in the full-on red and blues. Later we learned that the animators had two different versions of the animated character for that scene - the classic red/blue that we saw in the trailer, and the wrestling-ring mask one that eventually landed in the movie itself.

My question, then - are we REALLY seeing Spidey punch Sandy in the trailer? Sure, it looks like Spidey now, but the body looks too big... too bulky. Do you think that bulky Spidey will actually be Venom in the movie???

(This can also be applied to Harry's mask - we haven't had any official shots of the paintball mask... Could extreme sky-surfin' Harry really be wearing a Gobby mask when the animatics get switched early next year????)

The only reason it looks bulky is because it was very rough CGI. It will be sharpened to make Spidey and Sandman to look sleek and realistic. As for Harry, Raimi himself stated that he is not Green Goblin or Hob Goblin. In the long run, it could end up being a load of crap, but at this point it's pretty much Harry in the paintball mask and nothing is changing that.

I've seen a lot of complaining about the Paintball mask, and some questioning about why Spidey looks beefcake in that shot, but I haven't seen anyone discussing the possibility that the trailers are not really showing us what we'll be seeing in the final film.

You have to admit that the wrestling-mask thing happened, which gives more weight to the possibility that we're getting duped with the early previews.

Yeah, and most of it wasn't even unfinished CGI, they used a lot of animatics (animated storyboards) to complete the Comic-Con trailer.

Yea Verde rocks. Yea the animatic where Spidey punches through Sandy, if it were Venom the animatic would have been black, like the shot of symbiote spidey flailing backwards. I think they are color coded for a reason.

I think the stunt double there is a boxer though.. did anyone else see that on the hype about the one armed boxer playing as a stunt double in spiderman????
