Rank the Trek films

Am I the only one who has issues with The Voyage Home?

I mean, yes, it's a fun movie, but really... in terms of actual story (not dialogue or characters, but actual plot), I think that movie was as lazy as it gets. The crew goes back in time to... um... bring a whale back so that it can talk to a probe. Uh... what? I think Bones even has a line where he acknowleges how absurd the whole thing is.

The plot was nothing more than an excuse for the original cast to bumble around the present day (well, what was then the present day) and act silly.

I can see where you are coming from. It was a comedy, and some people feel Star Trek should never be a comedy. But I think it was at least entertaining. I've heard Nimoy say that they set out to make a light and fun Star Trek adventure and I think they actually made it work.

I like the fact that parts 2, 3 and 4 are all connected. I know they just released a DVD/Blu-ray set that is just those 3 movies only.

1. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
2. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kain
3. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
4. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
5. Star Trek III: The Search For Spock
6. Star Trek: Nemesis
7. Star Trek: Insurrection
8. Star Trek: First Contact
9. Star Trek (2009)
10. Star Trek: The Motion Picture
11. Star Trek: Generations

Damn, I must have missed that one. :hehe:
