We're all talking about Bane, Catwoman, Blake and almost forgetting the guy who trained Batman to Begin with (ha, get it Batman Begins) in the league of shadows.

Rumors are he either - survived the train crash, or is just going to be used in flashbacks (to support Talia Al Ghul's role).

I for one believe he survived the crash and is actually the one pulling Bane's strings the whole time in the film.

Just praying they don't bring in mysticism in the film with the Lazarus Pit, which was a rumor as well.

Bane is Ra's, but he got burnt in the train crash so he has no hair and he's about 4 inches shorter and he put on a lot of muscle and his accent changed and his bone structure changed also

I think you may be onto something here.

Been some... interesting rumors on just this subject.

One of my biggest concerns with Ra's being a player again isn't that he's presumably dead in Batman Begins, it is that it would take away time from the TON of new and returning characters they decided to put in the film.

On the flip side, Ra's being alive would explain why Talia is able to fall in love with Bruce more easily, because he didn't save/kill her father. With him dead, it's hard to believe so far that she is anything other than duplicitous.

tl;dr I don't think he's alive; it takes away from the other characters; it complicates the ending even more

in the new trailer it looks like Bruce wakes up in the Bane prison in a similar way like in Batman Begins. and we know that he had a nightmare in BB.

i think Liam Neeson filmed a nighmare scene with Bruce Wayne. so Bane beats up Batman and he is unconscious . then they show Bane's men and Bruce outside the pit(greenscreen pit in india). and then we jump to the nightmare. the nightmare ends with Bruce waking up in prison and Bane is looking him. you see that they used a defocus effect on Bane's face when Bruce wakes up.

i think Neeson's cameo will fit as a nightmare. its again similar to BB like the whole movie.

I would LOVE if the Neeson cameo was a nightmare. It could very well be. I think it's just going to be a flashback with Neeson's Ra's and Talia though. showing their relationship.

Fun conspiracy time:

We all know that originally Nolan didnt want to change the audio mix for Banes vocal tracks. His reasoning was something along the lines that he didnt want to make it to easy for the audience to understand him and that he wanted the audience to try harder. A lot of people originally thought that that was a really stupid response, why wouldnt he just tweak it a little bit to help make Bane more understandable? Well eventually the audience had their way and the mix was changed. Maybe though, Nolan didnt want to change it because it would reveal that Bane speaks pretty similarly to Ras?

DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!!!

Ras is Bane.

Bruce's resemblance to Ras in the trailer can't be just a coincidence. I think we could see something there. Bruce looking into a mirror, cue cameo, and it's the thing that helps shocks him of his state, realising what he's becoming.

I would prefer Ra's cameo to be a dream/nightmare, or a vision as AnneFan explained, over a flashback.

If I were to guess I'd say Neeson is affiliated with the flashback with young Ra's.

With Gothamites fighting for their survival..Batman, thinking quickly, rushes to a conveniently placed microphone and proceeds to rock out to Meat Loaf's 'Bat out of Hell', causing the opposing forces to run out of Gotham covering their ears. :funny:

He didn't survive that crash. There is simply no way. Not only did it crash, but it exploded. Unless Ra's is, in fact, immortal, he simply did not survive.

Sorry.

Unless Talia wasn't fully aware of why Ra's died, and when she finds out, she becomes conflicted. I'm still convinced she will end up a highly conflicted character.

I don't understand people who think Ra's is still somehow alive. Realistically, it would have been next to impossible for him to have survived that crash without someone knowing about it. Story wise, having him miraculously survive the crash without anyone knowing, exit the city only to come back for revenge sounds like a plot to a tawdry soap opera. It just doesn't make any sense.

Agreed.

What does make sense is having Ra's presence haunt the characters and play a role in their motivations. This provides a much richer canvas b/c you can keep Ra's in a way and introduce new characters and what drives them into the mix.
Agreed again. Spot on.

What is Bane is Ra's' son!

No.

But Talia Al Ghul is Ra's' daughter.

But if she's a member of the LOS she should know all about their mission and methods.

Maybe Anthony Michael Hall was the real Ra's the whole time.

when Bruce is climbing out of the pit he has a full beard. front and on the side. in the first Bruce shot in the trailer we see Bruce with no beard on the side. so what you wrotte could happen.

I saw the Avengers and saw the TDKR trailer for the 1000th time....

I thought of something:

Batman is flying a fighter jet in TDKR. With that, Nolan doesn't seem to be as focused on his version of Batman as being "realistic-as-possible". With that, do you think it was an error or regretful that Ras Al Ghul WASN'T treated as being immortal in Batman Begins?

I mean... at this stage (TDKR), does it really make a difference now?

With Batman flying a fighter jet in the skies of Gotham, is someone being immortal through use of Lazarus Pits really that much more of a stretch?

Iron Man is just a guy in a suit... and in Avengers he meets a god, a hulk, a WWII super soldier... and it turned out just fine...

So was Ras Al Ghul not being an immortal in BB a mistake now?

I kinda think maybe it was.
