Same brick pattern. Same suit fabric. Same textures. More or less of the same colors (the spider, the webs). All together creates very similar design choices. They are similar suits.

Yes, they are similar. This shouldn't mean that a similar design should be exclusive to Raimi only, especially when it works really well.

Overall, I really like the look of the new suit and it doesn't seem like something I will need to get used to like the TASM suit. I didn't expect the eyes to look this good tbh. I thought there would be some catch like the lenses being yellow. For some reason, I think the wise cracking will look more natural with those eyes, I can just imagine him quipping in that suit better. My complaints are basically what everyone else said. The colors are too dull for my liking. I was really digging the nice vibrant blue and red. Also, the pattern looks a little bland to me. I thought the honeycomb pattern in the TASM suit added a lot more texture to the red and made the suit as a whole look more interesting. Finally, the webbing is a bit too raised. I think it would have been cool if the webbing actually looked indented instead. Hopefully the colors can still be tweaked to look more vibrant but overall, I am really liking the design, especially the eyes.

I second this. The stripe down the leg was my biggest issue with ASM suit.

The leg stripe is gone if you check out the set pics of the suit, and so are the shoes.

How exactly is that an over-simplication? What else besides the raised webbing and similar fabric have they ripped off the Raimi suit? The eyes? the color scheme? the black texture on the blue fabric? the entire design itself?

It wouldn't be right of me to act as if others are beneath and stupid, but when you're posting with people who are often so immature, shallow, closed-minded and quick to complain and criticize about everything, then it's hard not to be disappointed and amazed. But then again, it's my fault for sticking around.

The raised webbing and the fabric are enough to be called being already too similar to Raimi's suit. Heck, the colors look even way duller than in Webb's first suit.

The facemask (under the exterior mask) that they are using the get the shape of the skull is far more exaggerated (like the comic) than Raimi's Spider Man.

I don't like that they are using exactly the same material as Raimi's suit.

Regardless it's a beautiful suit. It's eyes are so mesmerizing and that classic design is absolutely timeless. Out of all the superheroes out there Spider-Man has always had the one costume that translates the best to the silver screen.

I doubt anyone on this forum is qualified to say it's 'the exact same material', especially when the only point of reference is a few photos.

Nicholas Hammond's live action Spidey.

I loved Hammond's Spider-Man. I also loved that the 90's animated series totally used him as a model for their Peter Parker.
