You don't have a shred of evidence that they didn't do that. See, it works both ways. I don't have to justify my opinion to you. :D

But that's not what I'm asking. I want your credentials, son.

On the other hand, "I don't know, sir." is an acceptable response.

There wouldn't be a problem at all aside from the angry entitled nerds who keep insulting professional filmmakers and working people with their "they jes copied it" garbage.

I have a very low tolerance for useless loudmouths disparaging the work of hard-working talented people.

Who the hell are you to call anyone any names. Who here is an entitled nerd? Who is INSULTING anybody here besides you? why dont you look in the mirror and stop acting like a clown.

So the lesson of the day is if someone has worked hard on something, you can NOT criticize it. Lmao

You're right, that's very uncalled for!

There's a difference between OPINION and CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM... and all the bashing and lashing we've been getting on here. It's more negative than realistic. And I think everyone should be better about it.

We just need to approach and be a better example for the naive ones here and about. Not pointing fingers. LOL :cwink: But if it's okay for me to interject, we don't have to belittle people just for the sake that we can be right. They probably deserve it, but it doesn't give us the right to.

With great power comes great responsibility.

I can't imagine where it's coming from.

If you are so defensive of your professional costume designer idols, why dont you write them a letter and tell them to be a bit more creative next time so you dont have to defend their lazy work on an internet forum for "entitled nerds" who pick apart their lazy and recycled costume design ideas with ease.

HEY! They may or may not have worked VERY hard on that design! You have NO right to judge! You're going to make them cry! All the way to the bank!

hahahaha I wonder if this guy defends Michael Bay too.

SO MUCH HOSTILITY!!!

Kind of funny though, but I've had it for one day. Night!

Webb's ASM just seems a little more realistic to me. More mature, more 'lived in'. The new csotume is more like the comics but seems a little 'kiddy', a little cartoony.
Very much like the Captain America suit, in the Captain A movie the suit had the 'spirit' of the Captain Amercia suit because was a little more mature, 'lived in'. Also in the movie they had the straight up ripped from the comic outfit and it loved very cartoony and even the Avengers Captain America suit looked a little cartoony.
I don't know about all this, it's just visual for me, but I look at the new suit and just think it looks badass from the ground up. A combo of both (Raimi/Webb) with cooler white eyes. In other words, I don't care how or why it came to be...I'm just glad it's here. Especially, if they plan on doing the Death of Gwen Stacy...Spidey needs to be in that classic suit for monumental moment.

Still waiting for an actual critique of the materials and the thought process behind it, or a reasoned technical explanation, rather than a generic, "we hates it"

You guys have yet to deliver.

Yes because you need to be an expert on textures and materials to criticize a costume. Just like how you need to be a professional musician to criticize a song.

Go back and read this thread, we already told you what we found to be disappointing about it and showed you pictures so your mind could comprehend it, then you brought up this weird materials argument to change the subject. Sorry we all arent professional seamstresses like you!

Yes because you need to be an expert on textures and materials to criticize a costume.

So what's your critique? You can't name the materials used, you can't identify what filming techniques would necessitate a particular suit build... what do you have left in your arsenal other than "I don't like it"?

Just like how you need to be a professional musician to know if something is bad.

"I don't like it" does not equal "bad"

I don't hate the materials for the new costume but it seems 'very' similar to the Raimi materials. They may be completely different but they 'look' similar so from a design stance (imho) that is a little lazy especially when they went through great pains and some negative press to come up with completely new and fresh materials for the ASM costume.

You get over the hump of the reboot, incur some negative feedback for the costume change and when you are free to do whatever the heck you like with the sequel you return to a similar design of the previous trilogy, they may as well have gone with the similar Raimi design right out the gate.

Okay. You don't have to be a professional musician to not like a certain song. Just like how you don't need to be an expert on materials and textures to not like a costume. You really have no argument.
