I remember the wait between trailer 2 and 3 for TFA was 6 months. That wait was brutal lol.

Remember that too. That's why I think there will be a 2nd trailer in July/August (similarly to Rogue One).

As for the teaser, I give it a solid 9. It was epic, glimpsed how the movie will look and covered what the story might be in a mysterious way and without revealing anything.

And that music... Kudos to the guys doing those trailers and mixing William's score to some epic-sounding tracks!

I dunno. I'm kind of burned out on threats of stuff ending and being broken, good things lost etc. Even if I believe we will continue to see Jedi in some form, I'm tired of the whole cycle of " Oh the cool things you like are going to be lost/compromised so you better watch".

what an underwhelming teaser

Coming on the heels of the Thor trailer it was a bit underwhelming. It had great shots but the only scene I really found of interest was Luke collapsing in front of the burning temple(?).

The movie itself looks okay, but I found the teaser to be underwhelming as well.

Eh it's a teaser trailer. The thing is this is closer to the teaser we got a year before The Force Awakens came out that was released during Thanksgiving.

At Celebration 2015, we got a new sort of teaser trailer that at least showed us Han and Chewie stepping in the Millennium Falcon and it was like nostalgia overdrive.

This is about what I expected.

That said, I feel we should've had something like this a few months ago.

This trailer is structured very similar to the Celebration teaser. Same layout, with even the big pauses early on.

Except this one doesn't have a Han and Chewie money shot or reveal. I'm just saying, this should've been released over the holidays. At this point, people probably expected a little more. Not saying anyone is wrong, but not surprised by some of the reactions.

The final "money shot" is Luke and him saying the Jedi need to end.

Not sure why one would expect more. It is very similar to the TFA and Rogue Spring teasers.

7, but that might be a little bit harsh because I had very high hopes and recently saw the Thor trailer, so maybe I had unreasonable expectations.

That pales in comparison to Han and Chewie on the Falcon. If you fail to realize that and why the majority of people are voting 7/10 here, that's your problem Darth. Seeing Han and Chewie again on the Falcon made it real for us. Don't you understand? We already sort of saw and knew about Luke in this movie.

Han and Chewie on the Falcon was an uplifting return. The Force is about to awaken.

Luke is the opposite. This is the story of the Last Jedi. Right now, it doesn't feel like a "happy", uplifting tale. It fits the tone they are going for. It is exactly why we have the red lettered reserve TFA poster.

People can feel how they like of course. But the reaction across the net seems rather positive and it fits the last celebration trailer quite well.

That's what I've been saying pages ago. The opening shots, the music in the TLJ's opening shot sounding like a reverse of the music in Teaser 2, "This Christmas", followed by shots montage with epic music, etc.

For me, Luke saying the Jedi must end is a bigger deal in SW lore than Han and Chewie being on the Falcon again.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but a majority of fans here disagree, hence the poll results. I'm just explaining why.

I think one of the problems with the trailer is that it does look very generic. That's not a critique of the movie or the elements in the trailer, it's just a critique of the trailer itself. Also not getting a clear shot of Luke, just the voice over and a shadowed image of him in the cave entrance, I think was a bit of a letdown.

I only bring it up because it's still currently Disney's most viewed trailer, the Thor Ragnarok structurally just struck a perfect balance of wetting your appetite but not giving away too much. This trailer certainly doesn't give away anything, but I think one of the problems it's it is structurally too close to the TFA teaser.

9/10. The visuals are sumptuous and the tease is strong in this one... As it should be. Luke's final words though... God damn... They came up with something that trumps speculation about Rey's mama and papa.

Great teaser - gave away nothing, and teased us on things we are going to see.

Really happy with it. 9/10.

Sorry, but I gonna disagree. I found Luke's line to be underwhelming, maybe it is because we already saw Luke training Rey, and I don't think it really meant what he said since it is taken out of context. Han and Chewie on the Falcon, on the other hand, is a nerdgasm moment.

Any other week and maybe this trailer gets me more, but that thor trailer really has set the bar which is unfair to star wars to compare them. Who woulda thought that a thor3 trailer would outshine a star wars trailer.

I love the training montage shot of Rey twirling the saber on the cliffs edge.

I like it more for its themes than as an overall presentation.
