I'm not sure if this has been done before. If so please delete the thread.

Now that all three films have been released on DVD it is possible to watch them all back to back and truly judge them as a trilogy. How would you rate the combined vision?

Before X3 i would have rated it a 9, maybe 9.5, but X3 really brings down the scales IMHO. Shame, this could have been a 10/10 trilogy with some thought and time put in.

Ha, didn't take long for the 1st zero to come in. :D

Yeah, even for people who liked X3 (my personal view is mixed although I can still enjoy the film), I think the overall score comes down for the combined trilogy as the third film doesn't fit as well with the first two (which fit well with each other) resulting in a less coherent vision overall. I hope people don't forget the merits of the first two films when voting.

Neto, why did you put it on 0?
I'm sorry but I can't really consider these 3 movies as a 'trilogy'.

X-Men and X2 I consider as 1 long film but TLS was more like an alternate universe type of movie.

To this day I have never seen X2 without seeing X1 beforehand. But when I see all three at the same time, the third one just feels like I'm watching something else.

But that's just me.

If this thread was titled Rate the X-Bilogy, then I'd rate it a 10. :)

Yeah, unfortunately X3 takes away from the quality of the first 2 movies in a big way. And it just doesnt seem to fit with the first two either, some things are missing.

I rate it 8/10 overall. Great trilogy, but some of the continuity screw ups ruined it for me.

I give it a 5. they, in no way, match each other. If you watch all three in a row, you can tell the characters and "story" get hijacked at some point and lose their focus....5.

10! the trilogy is awesome im planning my on marathon this weekend movie by movie!!

5 because of X3.

X1 and 2 are 10.

There are 'jumps' between all the movies.

Pyro was young, sweet and innocent in X1, then he became a psychotic monster in X2. Xavier didn't seem to know about Wolverine's past in X1 (they had the whole infirmary explanation of his anatomy) then he did in X2. Storm 'couldn't control it like that' in X1 to create a gust to lift Wolverine precisely, then in X2 she creates a swarm of precisely-controlled tornadoes.

I wouldn't exactly call him 'sweet and innocent' since he did try to kill cops and acted like an ***hole throughout the entire movie. I agree that he wasn't exactly evil like he was in X3 though.

I voted 8.

X1: 8

X2: 9

X3: 6

I give it a 7 because it's really entertaining and such, but I'm a bit of a purist and I wish it was more like the comics.

And -1 for mistreating Cyclops.

... so I probably should have given it a 6. Oops.

Overall, I gave it an 8. Maybe it really deserves a 9, I dunno.

The only "10" trilogy, in my opinion, is Lord of the Rings.

But all 3 X-Men movies were brilliant. The deviations to the source material were minimal compared to what they got right (although the number does jump a bit in X-Men: The Last Stand)

In the end, I am totally satisfied with the 3 movies we got. Some things could have been different, yes, but that doesn't take away from what we did get, which was excellent on all 3 counts.

Please read my post again. I was comparing Pyro in X1 to Pyro in X2.
Not Pyro in X2 to Pyro in X3. :whatever:

Sorry, yeah I misread your post. He barely had a part in X1 though.

He had a cameo.

It's impossible to tell if he was "sweet and innocent", we saw him make a small ball of fire to impress Rogue.

In the early scenes of X2, he was very "playful" like he was in X-Men, the way he was showing off to those kids in the museum.
