Another article concerning Smallville here (thanks to DTS for link):

Should ‘Smallville’ fans be worried about the show being canceled mid-season? – Helga
Fear not, Helga, The CW is in no rush to end Clark’s journey. Let me remind you what netlet boss Dawn Ostroff said her expectations were at the time the show’s move to Friday was announced. She told me that because of the series’ “very strong” and “loyal” fan base, “I think ‘Smallville’ will do better [than previous occupants 'Everybody Hates Chris' and 'The Game']” – and sure enough it has, drawing 2.6 million viewers in its most recent outing. Clark & Co. also deliver a much stronger Live+7 DVR playback bump (+56 percent at last count).

Looks like good news, seems The CW don't have the unrealistic expectations of some of the internet 'bloggers' for the show after its move to Friday. An improvement in ratings for a particular timeslot is still an improvement as far as The CW are concerned.

The show was never going to draw in a higher number of viewers than it was getting on its Thursday timeslot, however in moving it to a Friday they've managed to maintain pretty much the same audience numbers (albeit some 1.3m on DVR playbacks).

I did say when the move was announced, in moving one of their most popular shows to a timeslot that was lacking they've (so far) managed to turn it into a somewhat successful timeslot by their standards while introducing new blood into their network with Vampire Diaries.

Not only did last weeks live ratings rise but so did the DVR playbacks it seems, I believe it was only at 50% for Metallo/Savior.

cool yea, they would be fools to drop it mid season. They got nothing they could put on fridays that would do better then 1million viewers or so. Really as long as the show stays around were it is presently 10th season is likely a go.

Roulette got a demo rating of 1.1 viewers by millions should be up shortly according to tvbythenumbers.

so Roulette got This:
Good news for "Smallville" (2.5 million, 1.1) fans, though. The show matched last week's season high (which also held up in the nationals, btw). That means The CW tied ABC for third place at 8 p.m. (18-49 is not their sales demo, but they still keep an eye on it). Regardless of the network's mixed feelings about "Smallville," any show that gets the network out of fifth place among the industry's standard measurement is tough to ignore. So after climbing significantly to reach season highs for two weeks in a row, does that mean it's time to update The Live Feed's TV Series Survival Status Report? I think so.

Though this guy is more negative on the show even though its holding well on fridays.

He said the network has mixed feelings about Smallville. I hope Dawn O. isn't one of them. We know her bonehead decisions are impulse ridden so she might cancel it without a thought. Like she did Smackdown, which was one the networks highest ratest shows. She's not exactly the brightest star in the galaxy but she is the biggest nugget in the box on the CW. WB really needs to fire her. All the shows look alike.

i think that guy is just very negative wasnt he the one who had that survival guide and pegged smallville the other week or to as being dead. Now look were we are best numbers two weeks in a row. I think the "mixed feelings" comment is his own thoughts. I havent seen anything negative from the network about the show. Plus we know compared to the other cw shows weekly smallville is doing better then them or same with them(minus top model/TVD). i do really wonder with all the dumb moves she had done with CW how is the hell is she even still in charge i would have though cbs/wb would see things are bad long ago fire her and replace her with someone both cbs/wb can agree do a better job.

Roulette - 2.52 (2.62 initial overnight ratings)

Slight dip from last week, but the 2nd highest rated episode this season

For the timeslot according to K-Site, Smallville was ranked 4th for the ratings timeslot only behind Supernanny, Law & Order & Ghost Whisperer. FOX had the 2 lowest ratings during the timeslot with Brothers/'Til Death.. which I believe is a first since the move to Friday.

so Roulette got This:

Though this guy is more negative on the show even though its holding well on fridays.

Nice find

also i saw on tvbythenumbers it matched supernanny in 3rd place for demos too.

I could be thinking of a different guy but I think this is the guy some people from KSite contacted and he actually got downright vulgar with them. At the time he seemed like he wanted his negativity about Smallivlle to be true more than he was operating on solid info.

i dont really know i dont really follow the site i posted the ratings from all the time. I like tvbythenumbers better and ksite posts. Though someone on ksite boards posted the other guy first. So i went with that post when i brought it here for us to talk about.

How do they figure in the people that watch on the CW's web site and sites like Fan Cast? I know I watch NCIS on Fan Cast because it's on while I'm at the gym, so I watch thenew episode later in the week.

sure smallville isnt the type of show stupid Dawn o wants, but its one of the best money makers for CW/THE WB.

Posting this in "Crossfire" thread.

Well Crossfire's Final Ratings are in, This is taking out the Chicago market for the bulls game(also it looks like around 180k watched the bulls game):
http://pifeedback.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/63310451/m/930102252/p/4
Smallville (92% coverage, CW usually 95%)
- 2.424 million viewers
- 1.5/3 HH
- 1.1/4 A18-49
- 1.2/5 A18-34
- 1.0/4 W18-34

Nice to see final numbers didnt drop to bad. From 2.62 for overnights to a 2.42 is still pretty good.

Kandor's Overnight numbers are now out:

From Matt's Twitter:

Ratings snippet: #SMALLVILLE rises to 2.76 million viewers, and gained over the hour. (Pretty good episode, too!)

Yay!

Dont have the demo numbers yet, but what an increase.

What is the CW's highest rated shows? Seems like none of the shows that Dawn O has brought on has been doing that well, except maybe Gossip Girl. You think that maybe pissing her off? She should really market this show instead of the one other show CW has that they split into 6 other shows. They all look alike.

Right now the highest rated show is Vampire diaries scoring over 3million viewers. Then number 2-4 is top model/supernatural/smallville. I dont know for this week were all the shows stood as to who was top for the week. Sure dawn o schedule totally blows, she thinks that all the girlie drama shows will make the network. Which it isnt and she is stupid for not making a more well rounded out schedule like the other majors do.

As for smallville great news as i posted it scored the highest ratings so far for this season, and we are continuing now for 4 episodes on a ratings upswing. So glad about that.

With the exception of the Vampire Diaries, all of her top shows were on before she took over. That can't sit to well with her bosses, you would think so anyway. The way they market Gossip Girl and all the other crappy teen angst drama shows, you'd think they were competing with American Idol. I only watch the CW 2 days a week, Thursday night at 9pm and Friday night at 8pm. Other than that, the network is a toilet bowl and she's the stains in it.

Totally i dont watch any of the other cw shows besides supernatural. I am not into the stupid girlie drama shows. Its to bad dawn thinks thats what is going to save the network. Now if we had a better president like say who ever is in charge of nbc/cbs/abc for example they have a better sense in schedules and all that. They have their drama nights, their scifi nights, and their comedy nights. All CW has is girlie dramas, a model reality show, and then lucky to still have spn/sv.

ok i was just saying some of the other network presidents would probably do way better then dawn o in charge. I still wished the last the wb president became the cw president over dawn.

Smallville had 2.76 million viewers and a 1.3/5 rating/share with adults 18-49. Here are some more details via our friends at the CW:
Smallville won the 8-9pm hour among adults 18-34 (1.3/4), men 18-34 (1.5/7) and men 18-49 (1.5/5-tie).
Smallville again climbed to a new season high in adults 18-34 (1.3/5), adults 18-49 (1.2/4), men 18-49 (1.5/5) and total viewers (2.76mil). This also marks our best performance here in these demos in over a year (Sept. 08).
Smallville was up vs last week by 8% in adults 18-34, 7% in men 18-34, 9% in adults 18-49, 15% in men 18-49, and 14% in total viewers.

Good stuff to see the show steadily progressing each week, its perhaps the aftermath of people catching on its been shifted to Friday.

Things like steady increases in ratings, itunes sales & DVR numbers might well be all the incentive The CW needs to give the go ahead for a 10th season.

It would be pretty dam good if they could get within touching distance of 3m live viewers before the mid-season break.

yea i dont think we have anything to worry about. 4 weeks now there has been an increase, and it sells great on itunes and other stuff. I to think we could possibly hit 3.0ish for pandora. And if that was to happen would be a great way to close first half of the season out.
