Justice League Ray Fisher Is Victor Stone/Cyborg

Such a disappointing article and so clearly a hit piece.

What I love is that they make the correlation from being "offered a small role" to Ray's June "twitter attack."

And apparently Mamoa is also upset for getting only a small role in Flashpoint.

It's crazy how people are taking WB's side in this when clearly something happened.

He isn't really suggesting that Momoa is upset about Flash(point), but yes, it's clearly a hit piece. I'm sure it's nothing unexpected for Ray, this means more co-stars would come out to back him up like he mentioned they would in his latest video.

the hits just keep coming.

Wait what? I dont understand this article. Are they saying he attacked Joss Whedon on twitter in June and no one noticed?

They're trying to spin it as this whole controversy starting because of him being pissy that he got offered a smaller role (and paycheck) than he'd been expecting.

Sure but...what are these tweets theyre referring to? What kind of BS article is this?! Lol

They're gonna keep pushing the narrative of Ray being a bitter primadonna as their primary attack. It jumped out at me in the first response when they made sure to highlight his script additions being ignored.

I'm honestly speechless, I can't believe WB is still doing new hit pieces when it's this transparent :funny:

And I didn't even know people still listened to Ummmmmberto.

Theres no way WB went to Umberto Gonzales of all people to counter attack this. No way.

Still makes you think why he of all people would write this. The guy must be self-aware about his, shall we say, inconsistency when it comes to reporting movie news, right?

They had to have at least known he was writing it. He says in the article he contacted them and they didn’t respond. Letting Umberto just run wild with the story did them no favors lol.

In my estimation, I think there are a few reasons why some are taking WB's side or are dismissing Ray (and they can fit into one or more of these categories):

1) They're bored and they want the juice. The fact that Fisher isn't providing details is not good enough and they want something more. Why? Just because or don't waste my time, leaving out the fact that anyone can also just ignore this story if they wanted to. Nobody is forced to follow the story or is entitled to all the information when they want it, how they want it.

2) There are people that are just so used to the status quo that they don't even realize that they are advocating for or defending the status quo. This is the way Hollywood is, get over it. Like, what is one actually saying here when they make this statement? They are fighting for those in power, not those that are subordinates. MLK talked about the white moderates and, while this isn't necessarily a pure parallel to that, the idea is still the same, that there are people that are too lazy or comfortable to think things could or should be better.

3) There are people who just love to have a strong opinion on anything and everything, so taking a reasoned, patient approach is out the window. I'm not talking about people who think one side may be right based on prior evidence or are examining the information so far available, but rather people who feel like they know what has happened and act as if they do. One thing the internet has greatly reduced is moderation, the middle ground, open-mindedness. Nope, I have to give my opinion on everything, and it doesn't matter how little thought I actually put into that opinion, I'm going to give it anyway, whoever gets hurt be damned, after all, I don't personally know any of the people I'm talking about and I'm just sitting here behind a keyboard. I wish people would put more stock in the value of their words. Our words represent us. Being anonymous does not change that.

Well, those are 3 categories that jump out to me.

The Mamoa part I wrote was sarcasm, just further pointing out that making the correlation between "small role" and "twitter attack" seems tenuous at a glance.

This has honestly been wild to behold. To see such a powerful studio fumble every attempt to clean this mess up. I’m genuinely just like wtf.

Like I said, if WB took the George Costanza route, they'd be the most brilliant movie company in the world.

Guys i just refreshed the article and Umberto added more to it...he LITERALLY JUST RECAPPED ALL OF FISHER’S POSTS FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS THAT WE ALL KNEW ABOUT. There is NO news in this “exclusive”. This literally is like those essays you wrote in high school where when you had nothing to say you rewrote the same sentence 16 different ways until you reached 500 words double spaced.

Pathetic.

Is it tho? It's ridiculously easy to change the narrative and get people to buy anything you're selling

There's still a good amount of people that believe Ray is only doing this because WB cut out his scenes and cancelled his Cyborg movie

In the interest of fairness, WB doesn't seem to have done anyhing in this instance. There are no quotes from their representatives in the article and they apparently didn't even bother with it. Whatever Umberto was trying to do here, the embarrassment is on him. Did he want clicks so bad. lol

And that was the gist of my first post. The headline does not match the content of the article. He does very little to nothing to substantiate the claim that Fisher engaged in a twitter beef with WB/Whedon because of being offered a small role with Flashpoint. That's a damning accusation of Ray Fisher, so you better be able to back it up. You're essentially saying he is the type of person who could be so offended by being offered a small that he would go on the offensive and attack a whole studio/its producers in some more or less oblique way by criticizing them for things that have nothing to do with actual said offering of small role.

The article comes across as lazy at best. If I were his professor, I'd give Umberto a C- as the content of his essay does not support his thesis statement.
