I think Ray intentionally left it up to the studio. Resignations are typically a lot more specific in how they’re rendered. Most companies have a handbook of some sort to let you know how to do it. Every company I’ve worked for has required written notice 1-2 weeks in advance. I’m sure many of us have encountered this as well.
An employee saying they don’t want to work with people, regardless of their position, is a really weak defense for an employer trying to justify a resignation and it would never hold up based on my experience managing folks.
So now this paints it as a termination if indeed the role was written out of the film. That wouldn’t be abnormal if not for this whole scandal, which creates an arguable case of retaliation on the part of WB. That’s illegal.
And even if Ray did intend to quit, it still may not hold up as an actual resignation if the environment was indeed toxic. It’d a constructive termination/discharge and WB would be in hot water.
Either way it goes, The Wrap has put themselves in an awkward spot by saying Ray resigned based on his tweet. WB will probably say Ray has not been terminated and that the Flash script is still being worked on.
Nah a journalist needs to be held to a higher standard. It’s their job to vet this kinda stuff and report accurately. But even your average manager could’ve told you that’s not a real resignation.
Well looks like The Wrap has already amended their article. I dont think WB will say more on the subject of him Cameoing in The Flash. We know it the offer was there, either Ray signed on to it or he didnt. If he did then was let go and paid out that's a different story. But even then they can simply say that the script evolved and he was ultimately written out. If he asked to be let out of his contract then that is also a different story.
The weird thing about the WarnerMedia statement was Ray had been making it seem like they were on his side and had his back against WB. So them saying "Okay, investigation's concluded. Move on now" was a bit surprising.
I think they are at the point where they are on his side but they did everything they were supposed to do and Ray doesnt want to let go and is making statements that he likely wouldnt even know about anyway in regards to who is getting terminated or not.
