Justice League Ray Fisher - WB Investigation Updates Thread

ZS: "I wasn't a witness to what had taken place. It's not my place to talk but I support Ray and the others."
RF: "out of respect for Zack and his family, we didn't bother him with what was happening on the sets of JL. I didnt talk to him for 18 months"
WB: "it's all Snyder's fault!!!"

Except nobody at WB downright said that as far as i can tell...its all rumor.
And if i would blindly believe ZS or RF on what they say, i wouldnt question it...so i dont really see any value in their quotes when i dont trust anybody on this.
Not Snyder, not Fisher and definitly not WB.

If you want to cherry pick stuff, thats up to you...its not my beer.

Neither would this be the first time a studio pulled some ****, nor the first time a director or actor pulls some ****, trusting anybody based on this little evidence, thats not my thing.

now i know why WB canceled New Gods, they saw Darkseid in Snyder lol

Probably lost all hope in fixing the mess.
Would have taken quite a bit to turn the dumb brute into what Darkseid actually is.

The idea that Ray's actions were Snyder's attempt to regain control of the franchise falls apart under the slightest of scrutiny. How would making public accusations against the people in charge lead to Snyder's original position as "architect" of the franchise being restored? If anything, all the publicity this has garnered has likely put the current powers that be even further off possibly restoring the Snyderverse than they already were, as evidenced by Ray being dropped from The Flash.

This is what I keep saying, if it was a plan it wasn’t a very good one.

Also it’s a baseless rumour made up by Jody’s Corner.

I can't with how ridiculous it is that someone has to publicly justify not casting an actor who they didn't think was right for the role, or else be thought a racist. If anything, it discourages from putting diverse casting on the table when there's an opening for it and turns it into a minefield best left avoided, as the fact that a BIPOC actor didn't get the role will always be spun into racism-themed clickbait. Like how Bomer not getting Superman was presented as Hollywood homophobia when it's perfectly believable that they liked others better.

Yup

I remember though Bomer homophobia thing, reality was Ratner wanted Bomer but the studio wanted Brendan Fraser. That was a director and studio not been able to agree on who to cast.

And you think because of that Hamada and Johns will be fired? Especially Hamada, after all the public defending Warner Media has done for him? They would make them look worse than ever before if they did that.
She’s digging around and will eventually find a corpse, so to speak. Everyone has skeletons in their closets.

If that's the case, then Ann Sarnoff should end up resigning too since she's said multiple times how much she "believes" in Hamada and how he can relate to situations like this because he's a person of color. Wouldn't that technically make Sarnoff an "enabler" too after all. Then this won't just end with Johns and Hamada, since there's Emmerich too, which means Sarnoff must be aware of his participation in this mess as well. So if Masters is going to start digging about all of them, then it seems like it's going to become even more interesting than it was for the past year.

Geoff Johns’ days are numbered.
Unless AT&T gets involved, I can see him actually sneaking past all of this. The main target seems to be Whedon and to a lesser degree the WB president. I can actually see him slipping through this like a greased pig through a fat man's hand. Hopefully I'm wrong but time will tell.

Im wondering how long WB thinks they can hold onto Johns.

Do they think this will stop soon?
It wont, people want blood no matter if the stories are true or not.

WB needs to realize that, they are the big evil company no matter if the stuff is true or not.

Now we get accusations of Johns messaging minors, the racism etc accusations will not stop.
They are not sitting on the longer lever, the people do.

You can do a ton of damage over social media etc, and sooner or later companies who have deals with WB will be worried enough to force WB to do something.

I doubt WB can sit this out, so the question is how valueable is Geoff Johns to them.

I think Johns will be fine. He wont be doing any real publicity for anything but they'll keep him around. He seems to have enough good will with various people (Patty isnt a fan of Whedon but likes Johns) and the general audience has no idea who he even is. Send him to some management classes, diversity and inclusion training. His allegations arent nearly as bad as Whedons and this is the same studio who kept Ezra around after video evidence of him attacking someone.

maybe this is a good thing and it could be learning moment for him.

For what it's worth...

He'd make a good Superman now. I'm sure JJ will add him to a legit list. Also, this bad PR for WB must drive them up the wall. I mean, this dude didnt even comment on his own departure from a very successful netflix show, but did so on this. Some WB suits gotta be completely bald by now from all that hair pulling that this had done for them.

To be fair this isn't related to the problems regarding how WB handled the investigation and Ray's complaints about it. Geoff is really the only one who should be pulling his hair out, which he must be doing since his publicist has been very active lately.

Be poetic justice if Rege ended up as Abrams' Superman.

Let's NOT compare Geoff Johns to Ezra Miller. whatever he did was not attacking somebody.

I still think if they were intending to cast a white actor and passed up on Rege because of that that’s fine. When they look for actors of other ethnicities for roles they will pass up on white actors too.

I think this is exactly what has happened to Rege here with not getting the role of Seg El. I don’t think it’s a problem at all.

What is a problem is if Johns has said what Fisher has heard he said. We also have to remember that, Fisher wasn’t there for those conversations. It’s easy to paint someone in a bad light when you hear second or third hand information.

I Read #1 of Geiger. The new Comic series from Image by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank. Pretty good. I can recommend that.

Heard good things about it. FWIW, Johns and Frank have always been a winning combo imo. Doosmday Clock was polarizing but what sequel to Watchmen wouldn't be.

The very idea of a sequel to Watchmen is folly in my opinion. That book is an ouroboros circle, it's end tying into the beginning, a perfect loop. Trying to crowbar something else into its timeline is to break that circle.

I freaking loved Doomsday Clock and I’m not that big a fan of the original Watchmen.

I suppose the Krypton showrunners can say that their casting was colorblind; they just hired the best actor for the part. :ebr:

I can’t say. I’ve never seen Page in anything. I thought Cuffe was… adequate. But he didn’t knock my socks off.

As for the “racial continuity” between a movie and a TV show which don’t exhibit much continuity at all… Page is apparently bi-racial (half white). So it’s quasi-plausible that he could be the grandfather of someone who looks like Henry Cavill. It’s less plausible that he’d be the father of someone who looks like Russell Crowe. But — hey! — Kryptonian genetics. :word:
