I love this show but far too many plots are introed only to be left hanging to go to another new freak of the week where they intro something else into the show...

1. Sam's contract and the page his dad ripped out...
2. The Devil consistently trying to keep Andi and Sam apart.
3. Gladys true nature.
4. The Get out of Hell free card.
5. Now the Devil's daughter plotline.

Yeah, but I have faith that they'll start to tie it together towards the end of the season and probably at the beginning of the next one.

I think we are to assume more than a week has elapsed.

I hope they keep Cady on for a while...she's so hot!

I'm just saying, narratively speaking, it's a big leap for the audience to accept Cady as Sam's girlfriend at the beginning of one episode, when they just met at the end of the previous episode. To say nothing of the fact that there was no established courtship of any kind, and as far as we could tell, Sam still had Taylor in the wings. I just think it's bad storytelling.

Fair enough.

But in the writers defense, I wouldn't wait long in making her MY girlfriend, so that made the fast hook-up ok in my mind ;)

It's not 24. An undetermined time passes between each episode. I'm glad they bypassed the whole first/second date stuff and went right to them spending more and more time together, like any couple does.

Anyway, thought it was a great episode. Loved Sock buying all the stuff he burned of Josie's during his phase of exploring his femimine side.

It just seems like a little bit of a slap in the face considering:

1)He's been pining for Andi up until two or three episodes ago. They've built that up A LOT.

2)Even with everything going on with Andi, they introduce Taylor, and at least you get to see a progression between the initial meeting, and something of a first date, at which point Sam wants to take things slow.

So bearing those two things in mind, even if we assume a long enough period of time has passed for them to now be a couple, it just seems really sloppy to present a scenario to the viewers in which Sam and Cady would go from just meeting each other at the end of one episode, to being a clearly defined romantic couple at the beginning of the next episode. I'm not talking about the passage of time in the context of the characters' reality. I'm talking about the narrative structure in the context of the viewing audience's reality. Yeah, it's evident from jump that the whole hook of her character is that she may or may not be the daughter of the devil, but we still need to get to know her a little bit better to understand why Sam can so quickly fall for her and forget all about Andi, and to a lesser extent, Taylor.

I already know this...because they are both hotter than Andi!! :oldrazz: ;)

I think Sam's attraction to Cady is much different than it was to Taylor, Taylor seemed much more just a lust type thing, not a possible long term thing. I think the first meeting between Sam and Cady showed it wasn't really lust as much as a real, instant connection with the tape and Ninja Turtles. I don't think Sam's forgotten about Andi, but that ship is gone, she told him she just wants to be friends and things have been awkward ever since. Sam knows it's just time to move on, find someone else. Kinda like when Jim started dating Karen in the Office.

You'd be surprised what happens when people really have a connection. I asked my wife to marry me within 3 weeks of us meeting. We've been happily together for over ten years now, with two kids.

And remember, the last episode dealt with the whole issue of Sam either waiting all his life for Andi or grabbing the first good thing he saw. It's totally plausible that by the end of the episode Sam was ready for something new to come along.

I see your point KenK, but personally I'm glad they didn't go through the whole courtship, it would've just been something we've seen a dozen times already in different ways in different shows. Might as well just get to the meat of the relationship.

This is a great show.
I just hope once the writers strike is over the new episodes go into why Sam's dad burned those pages and what was on it, and go into "Jerry" being the new GFs dad and all the complex stuff. Maybe have Sam get possessed that could be funny...

The writer's strike affects this show? Damn. Is that why the last episode was the "season finale"?

Just saw the first one in the UK here a few nights ago. Really good fun to watch but would like to see if it can be as good without Kevin Smith directing.

All new episodes return March 13th! :wow: :applaud

They showed the preview after tonights repeat!

Anyone else see it?

holy crap really???
i never watch tv reruns, so this is awesome, thanks man!
I watch them anyways because Reaper is like my favourite show, a little bit above Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles because, it's just fun. Every episode is incredibly amusing because the characters are so dynamic and interesting. Can't wait for the new season:yay:
