I can kind of see it. I think I'd like him to be just a touch more reserved than Sam.

But, since you bring True Blood up, picture Eric as a good guy but with the same strong sense of purpose. How about that for Superman?

Of course, he would need to be more reserved due to the dual identity situation.

I deff. see what you mean when you say picture Eruc as a good guy with his sense of purpose and nobility. I completely agree, that IS what Superman should be like. A modern day knight in shining armor that oozes nobility and fulfills his purpose of making the world a better place by inspiring the masses by using his God like powers as a form of good.

Does anyone else agree that the most important character in any Superman movie is Lex Luthor?
This is a excuse for the writers not being able to handle Superman. The title character should always be the most important one in a movie.

I honestly think Clark kent should not be the shy bumbling fool like the chris reeve films, but rather the country boy that just moved to the city. I mean he should be the guy in the office that walks into other peoples conversations and adds the awkward comment and laughs at his own jokes and talks with a farm language like says golly, gee, shucks etc. I dont mean make him a yolkal but make people like Lois have a reason for calling him "smallville".

He should also rival Lois' reporter skill if not better they should be in constant competition to one up the other which makes a kind of sexual frustration between them. Clark is trying to get info and make an impact on society that superman can take advantige of. Where Lois thinks he is trying to out do her so she tries to one up him but is attracted to him because even tho he's not her type he has the brains and gives her a run for her money. He should be alot like Jimmy in that they get each others humar and always sticks up for Jimmy even letting him take credit for things that would make Clark look like a big shot because he sees the potential in Jimmy. He shouldent have his hair in his face but rather a slicked back look covered by the occasional snap brim hat and glasses that are cokebottle thick to make his eyes look overly big or small and in the bright light even shade over just a tiny bit.

He should shouch just a tiny bit not to much and have a laid back lean back in the chair fall over when he leans back all the time and be disorganised so he and Lois argue because she should be a clean freak so that adds tension. As superman he should always look stern and like a stonefaced soldier.Only kids and Lois and Jimmy make him smile. He should get the job done and leave not be a standing there and let the press get a good shot at a picture accept for Jimmy. He should be all buisness when facing an enemy almost to the point as pissing them off because no matter how hard they try to knock him down he always gets up even if he can barely stands but he never quits even if it means him dying to save all the people on earth.

Lois should be brutally honest stern a flirt and the girl every feminest loves and every guy would love to be with at the same time. She should be sexy yet classy at the same time kind of like a Jackie Kennedy and Jenifer Anniston mixed in one. She should always be for the truth and find a way to get it which always puts her in trouble but she shouldn't always need superman she just likes to be rescued because shes in love with what he stands for and thinks hes a gift from god in the looks department. Jimmy should be the artsy geek trying to be recodnised and befriends Clark because he does so. Perry should be the loud bear of a man that respects everyone that works for him and thinks of Jimmy like a son that he tries to push to make him a better person in general. He also sees how Lois and Clark look and act towards each other and gets a kick on calling them out on it. Lex should be the donald trump of metropolis and he tries to make himself be metropolis's bigest celebrity but nobody in the city trusts him and he always covers his tracks which make Lois and Clark more determined to bring him down

I agree 100%. This is what I've been trying to say all a long but never could get it to come out right. And to give my opinion on DP Clark, SM and regular guy Clark. I think he would be the regular guy Clark at home with Lois, around Batman and anybody else he is totaly comfotable with and know that SM is a disguise(spelling).

John Corbin /Metallo

Arms dealer for Intergang an international criminal organization which speacializes in the sale of high tech weaponry to terrorist groups, warlords and any government willing to pay for the technology. Their competitors the wonder where Intergang gets their technology which appears to be advanced beyond anything on earth. Corbin is the face of Intergang oversea's. He's pretty much a shadow and his reputation as a sociopath proceeds him. At the same time he has a morbid sense of humor and can be quite charming when he needs to be. He's both respected and feared in the underworld but he's like a son to the head of intergang Morgan Edge. Edge found the orphan as a teenager in Bankok and raised him to be a cold blooded killer. Corbin's an Aussie who's fluent in a variety of Lanuages as he has to be in his buisness. After his deadly encounter with a pre Superman Clark Kent in Somalia much of his body is replaced with Cybernetic parts back in Metropolis. He still has a human heart but a large section of Kryptonite is used to power his body. It's located in the center of his chest although unknown to him is exposing him to dangerous amounts of radiation. He's half man and half machine in essence . After he becomes Metallo he becomes a liability to Intergang deciding to exact revenge on the mysterious figuare who was responsible for his condition. who to his suprise is in Metropolis.

Morgan Edge
The head of Intergang in Metropolis . In public he's a High profile Jet setting member of Metropolis society. In the underworld , he's the head of a world wide organization with it's tenticles in every facit of Metropolis society. He's old Metropolis money where as Lex Luthor represents new money and the two men hate each other. Think Steve Winn vs Donald Trump. Their both powerful moguls who in a sense are battling for the heart and soul of Metropolis .

That absolutely rocks.... but can we get all that in a movie that's only an hour and a half long? We kind of did it with The Dark Knight with all the subplots... it might be possible.

It would be a perfect way to handle the characters in the comics.

Thanks for thinking of something other than another dissertation on Clark/Superman, Lex, and Lois.

1hr and a half. hell no do i want to see a superman film 1hr 30mins long. I want between 2hrs-2hrs20/25mins in length.

Well unfortunately it can't all be in a 2 hour film , but I'd use it as sort of a jumping off point for the characters . I guess that's one of the problems when you have alot backstory to the characters but you can only fit so much into one film. I would put in the Morgan Edge / John Corbin father son dynamic in the film as I think it would serve as an interesting counter weight to the Clark/Johnathan Kent/Jor El relationship. The Intergang's reach could be shown in the film but some of Corbin's background I could be alluded to. Maybe all that backstory stuff could be placed in a prequel comic.

No origin story and no pointless supporting characters. If Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Ma and Pa Kent have no point other than to be filler, than they need to stay out of the film. Many may cry that this is not how things should be, but there is no other reason than to simply fill in time. Jameson in the first and second Spider-Man films stands around just enough to pass the time. He actually has a point after Brock gets involved. I figure if there is no reason for them to be in the story, just pass.

well then you are loosing alot of characters, and story plots you can get into if you have those elements/characters in the film.

And really if there is any future reboot origin tale for superman on film we need to clearly see why things are different this time around and not expect it to be just the same old thing like donner/etc.... past takes.

What do you mean filler.....these are very important characters in Clark/Supermans world.

you kinda need them.

Imagine a movie without J.J. Jamison or Alfred. It's the little things and characters that makes these franchises so rich.

Yes .... alluded to with a bit of dialogue here and there throughout the film.

Totally like i said if u dont have these characters or include origins to things you are loosing potential storylines and aspects you can development over a course of a film series.

you know what I want...I want Superman talking during his missions. I know it might be weird seeing him talk to nobody but I just think that would be better. Superman isnt like Batman who operates in the shadows and is based on stealth Superman is all about being a hero to the ppl and being vocal

For instance in Superman Forever Supes is trying to stop a plane from crashing and this happens after the whole Superman Red/Blue thing so hes getting used to his superstrength and after it being more difficult than expected he says: "Come On, come on. It's just like riding a bicycle...that's strapped to a military transport about to crash"

and no thats not HILARIOUS but I just think it would be better then him not saying anything as long as they dont have him trying to tell stand up jokes while saving people
