Iron Man Sequels Recast Tony Stark

Emun Elliott. Good comedic timing as demonstrated in Threesome, however, the only big film he has been in was Prometheus, plus he looks like Downey's younger brother.

Luke Evans. I want to see the charming, intellectual Tony Stark. Isn't that what he's supposed to be in the comics?

RDJ's personality is good fun but ultimately prevents Iron Man from being recognized as any kind of badass, especially since they give so much screentime to him through the suit.

I wouldn't mind Evans but I don't know about how great of an actor he is. i have only seen immortals and the raven and he didn't really impress that much but he definitely has that stark look

Only Oded Fehr look great for role... looks EXACT Tony STarkish

While I don't doubt that there are a number of actors who could do fine jobs as Tony Stark, and while I understand that plenty of re-castings have been successful before, I believe that, if Marvel is smart, they will not re-cast, and will simply leave the character be for now.

Iron Man, as a character, isn't their moneymaker. Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark is. Sure, you can do some really cool action with the suit(s), but there's nothing inherent to the character that audiences are in love with.

With regard to the Iron Man stand-alone series, I feel that 3 was a perfect closer—I wouldn't know where to go from here without undoing his arc or creating something that feels tacked on. And it's not like there are a wealth of Iron Man stories begging to be told or great Iron Man villains left to be shown onscreen. The series feels complete here.

With regard to The Avengers, I think they can start phasing him out. Make The Avengers 2 his final appearance. While Iron Man's appearance on the team made a huge impact in getting audiences to come see the film, it was, again, not Iron Man, but RDJ's Iron Man. I think most audiences would rather see the character sidelined than recast. If they're worried about losing that charismatic, cocky, smartass character with the great one-liners, then introduce a new character for audiences to fall in love with that can fill a similar role in the team dynamic. But re-casting would just be missing the point, and would feel wrong.

Yeah I hope they kind of give him a smaller role in next one maybe like Renner's role in the first one and in the third one just a cameo like a pepper pots one i think her cameo in avengers was short and simple

i can see Jack Huston playing Tony/Iron Man. he's definitely got the look and the charisma.

I havent seen Jack Huston act (Ive been meaning to watch Boardwalk Empire) however he does have the look to be Tony Stark. I dont know if theyll just recast and ignore the fact that Tony will be younger, but yeah Huston seems good at least look wise

Huston would be a really good choice. It'd be interesting though since now Superman, Batman, Spider-man AND Iron Man would be played by Brits.

Here's a Guinness commercial Huston did and for the record his character on BE is about 180 degrees different.

yeah, that Guinness commercial has me sold. kind of gives off a Tony Stark vibe. it's funny though, because originally i had wanted Huston to take over the new Batman reboot, but i think he would be better as Iron Man.

Jeff Goldblum. Screw recasting younger, go older this time around. Boom. Game-changer.

Goldblum is the proto-RDJ. :o

I don't recall RDJ ever chuckling to himself.

Goldblum wouldve been great. It's a shame he'll be 65 by the time RDJ is done. :(

HE IS AGELESS!!! :argh:

I wouldn't mind Bradley Cooper for Iron Man.

Who ever is the next Tony Stark is gonna have big shoes to fill. Gonna be hard to top RDJ performance.

And yet you got with one of the worst actors possible as a replacement,

I don't see anything wrong with Cooper, but everyone has their own opinions.

Prove it. :o

Uh, I believe the burden of proof is on you for this one.
