So are you going to make 40 years worth of movies to incorporate every comic element ever into the movies? Cuz that's IMPOSSIBLE!

Comic book movies can't go on forever like comic books can. They are totally different types of storytelling.

Harry Potter books, like the movies, are individual, self contained stories. It's much easier to make 8 Harry Potter movies based on the books than it is to make an X-Men movie every month to coincide with a new comic book...

There is definitely enough to do an Apocalypse trilogy.

Or even to have properly done the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga.

The big problem with how they tried to incorporate the Phoenix saga into these movies is that it ended up being too much.

This trilogy should have revolved around mutants fighting for acceptance in the world. The Dark Phoenix stuff should have been left for another trilogy, or given its own movie.

This is enough do to more than one movie, indeed! :D
I'm happy that X3 still makes a bunch of money. I just hope that FOX will use that money in a good way for more X-movies... GOOD, X-movies...

I think it´s going to perform like at theaters... Huge start, than drop fast. I´m okay with the movie, but don´t think it deserves huge sales.

HOLY CRAP!!!! With what X3 has done at the box office and now on DVD.... Fox would be complete idiots to not make X4.

Fox is playing games...that's all. They're not giving the X-Men rights back to Marvel in our lifetime. We'll see some form of an X-Film to keep the rights alive every few years till interest is gone and I doubt that'll happen. The X-Men have always been popular and there's always a new generation who's yet to experience it and sooner or later they'll restart the franchise in 30-40 years and just start over again. I wish NWS would sell Fox Studios to Viacom and then everything would be much easier. Then Viacom buys Marvel and suddenly all the rights are in one place.

'X' FACTOR:Spending on "X-Men 3," and "The Little Mermaid" totaled $80 million Tuesday, making making it the biggest fourth-quarter opening day in the history of home video.

sorry i'm late, but it won't happen, people won't buy the DVD, since the deleted scenes are up.

ONLY x-men fans know about it NOT the general movie goers.

btw X2 sold 2.2 million copies first day.

Impressive!

You see? since most erxtras are up? and the moviei can be torrented, prople will come and go. Therefore, they will just go without paying... Therefore, the DVD will not raise as much

The point is, it wont be going AS fast. for example if 10.000 copies were sold, without the revealed contents maybe 15.000 . There would've been a difference.

As much as I absolutely despise Fox and hate seeing them make money with all my passion, I hope X3 sells just enough to greenlight an X4.

If Apocalypse is incorporated into sequels, I DO NOT want Ratner or the likes of Penn and Kinberg anywhere near those movies. Because if they are in charge, and they **** up Angel's transition into Death like they did with Phoenix, hell hath no fury like an Angel fan scorned.

No, seriously.

What the hell are you talking about. LOL You're losing me. X3 is flying off the shelves and it'll raise plenty of money for Fox and all involved. Plenty. This is pure profit now as teh film already made it's money back and way more from the theatrical revenue and the tv rights sale.

Inspite of the negative reaction from some the chance that Fox will ask Ratner and co. to return to do another x-men film or a spin-off is very high after these box office and dvd numbers (500 million+ combined) i think.

Mehopes that Ratner will pull a Singer and go off to direct another superhero movie instead, getting blacklisted by Fox. :woot:

And perhaps Kinberg/Penn will be busy with other movies. :meow:

Plenty more than that. It's at what 455 theatrical worldwide, tv rights, and then the Dvd sales...and the theatrical revenue is still trickling in.

This is more surprising than the box office figures as they were frontloaded by people who hadn't seen the movie yet. High DVD sales indicate that a lot of people must have liked the film.

Yeah, the majority, that is, the general audiences, enjoyed the film and many liked it better than the last two. Of course by general audiences, I mean, those that weren't intimately involved in "X-Men" before the movies.

There's a part of me that hopes that they do get another X-Men movie greenlit..

Exactly. People who didn't like the movie in theaters aren't going to buy the DVD. It will probably also be a popular DVD during the holiday shopping season as well.

I finally watched my DVD (with it's measly 10 deleted scenes) tonight, and I must say...although it still too short, it's a very entertaining movie. I really had a blast watching it again. Even though it's too short.
