Sorry if this has been discussed already, but if Nolan goes ahead with the third film do you think he will include the Reese character...I think it would be interesting to see him become part of the Batman inner circle. Now that Bruce has saved his life he might think he owes his life to him and has a change of heart and decides to be an aide to Batman (not in any great capacity of course, just helps him here and there with info or chores).

Or do you think it's likely Reese will just be forgotten about?

It could go both ways. Reese may just be grateful that Wayne saved him and move on with his life. He could also sell that information to the highest bidder so to speak or even leak it out.

Someone said something about Reese getting knocked-off in the third. I think that's a good idea, not by Batman though even though every will think it's Batman including. Because the one thing Batman has going for him is that the top cop, the guy that has control over how intensely the GPD hunts for Batman knows the truth behind those murders. It will make things very interesting if Gordon is now suspicious that Batman may have really murdered someone.

I don't think so. In a way, he's like the Mr. Earle of TDK.

He'd have to be pretty cold-hearted to still wanna sell the info after Bats saved his unworthy ass! Especially since Bruce is likely to offer him a decent sum of $$$ to keep his trap shut.

Although I think having Reese up the ante and still threaten to blow the lid on Batman's identity would be an interesting thing to see, I doubt Nolan will want to carry that plot over into two movies....could be wrong though. Guess we'll fine out in a couple of more years!

I somehow doubt we'll be seeing Reese again. It's enough to assume he;ll keep his mouth shut after his last experience.

It WAS pretty stupid of Fox to leave the blueprints for the Tumbler down in the archives.....

I gotta admit I loved Resse's line when he says to Fox:

"What are you building for him now....a rocket ship?"

If Coleman Reese comes back I want to see The Riddler kill him. If not, oh well

He could become Riddler (I'd hate that but thats what I though when watching TDK)

Maybe he could help hide all the info that links wayne/wayne enterprises to batman.

Have him do a cameo as an informant for Riddler then have Riddler kill him in some shocking, gruesome way (ala the "pencil magic trick" like Joker)

Reese is like Mr Earle in Begins, he's served his purpose. There's no reason for him to return.

Except he's a ginormous loose end. He knows who Batman is, and everyone in Gotham knows he knows. He's going to be a prime target for everyone in the next film. Batman is on the run, so the GCPD is going to come for him, as will the villain (Riddler?) who will certainly be looking for Batman's identity. Although I agree it's not really necessary to include the character again, they've got to say something about him.

I wouldn't mind if he became Wayne's lawyer (seems that Wayne's inner circle would need a lawyer), but I wouldn't care if he was never heard from again.

He's a huge loose end.

If no one tried to get the info from him, they'd be missing an opportunity.

He and Bruce seemed to have an understanding by the end of TDK, but now Batman's believed to be a murderer.

We'll see how that plays out, or if hes just forgotten about in the next film.

And when someone wonders where all the tumbler money went to and look to find no record of the device, more questions are gonna get asked.

I think he has to be included, because, as has been stated before, he's a huge loose end.

In the search for the Batman, the first person in the line of questioning will be Reece. He's publically announced that he knows who Batman really is.

Whichever way that's going to play out, it has to be resolved.

Things to do with him:
- Have him arrested by the police - raising terrorist-esque moral issues - he hasn't done anything wrong but has dangerous information
- Have him captured by the mob/a rogue for information and die without telling them (change our opinion of him)
- Have him murdered, with Batman potentially framed
- Have him questioned and categorically ruled out of the investigation (he can admit to have having made the whole thing up)
- Have him questioned by the FBI and, in order to assisst Batman, help lead them on a wild goose chase by giving them false, but plausible info.
- Have him leave the country and adopt a new identity

I think he could play a really intresting role as a plot device. People want his information, and this is going to be an important factor in the hunt for Batman.

Considering Reese would be viewed by many citizens as the person indirectly responsible for getting Gotham General blown up I'm sure he'd have got as far away from the city as possible. It's a reasonable enough explanation for him not appearing in the next film, though I wouldn't mind if he returned.

hes gonna be the riddler, okay say mr.reese a lot of times and what do you get? mysteries

I think that he and The Riddler (or the next villian) must interact with each other in the next film.

Beautiful ideas. My favorites are in bold.

I kind of liked Reese's line that was excised from the script:

"My kids love the Batman. I thought he was pretty cool, too. Out there, kicking some ass. Changes things when you know it's just a rich kid playing dress up."

Well, he CLAIMED to know who Batman was at some point in time. He never got a chance to publicly divulge it, so he could simply say that he was mistaken by information he discovered later. Or as someone pointed out, people could blame him for Gotham General blowing up and he'd have high-tailed it out of there. :funny: He was just a consultant anyway, so Gotham probably wasn't his home base or anything.

I highly doubt he'd turn on Bruce, since the guy DID risk his life to save his.

I hope to see Reese as nothing more than Fox's right hand man if anything at all.
