The Dark Knight Rises Release date for the TDK Sequel; July 20, 2012

TDK began filming in March 07' for a July 08' release. Filming starting March 2011 for a July 2012 release date is right on schedule.

I am really happy that the date has been announced.
However, I hope we get bits of information and hints. So that the wait doesn't seem so long. It's brilliant when this place is flooded with news and gossip and topics go on for dozens of pages.
I hope we see some of that soon, because 2012 seems a long way off and it will help to punctuate the boredom.

Agreed. However, it will be interesting to see if the experience can live up to the pre-TDK fun/drama/adventure. It's hard for me to imagine having more fun...can't wait for the title/casting announcements/leaks.

And yet it didn't drop like a stone.

I think both will fare well. It's summer, at least the students will be able to watch TDK during the day if they want. And many will be DVRing the Olympics anyway, considering how late NBC's broadcasts were for the 2010 Games earlier this year....

they've got 2 years, which is MORE than enough time, not to mention the two years PRIOR to this announcement to plan out all kinds of little things MUCH ahead of time. And you're worried this is going to turn into some kind of rush job?

I hate to break this to you, but movies don't require 4, 5, 6 years or longer to make. No matter what James Cameron tells you.
