The Dark Knight Rises Release date for the TDK Sequel; July 20, 2012

I wish they didn't release any news until the film was a week out from releasing.

lol you're worried about the olympics? You know why dancing with the stars outdrew the olympics, or why CBS (I think, one of the networks) lost like 200 million to show the olympics? It's because PEOPLE DON'T CARE. They might have one sport they watch, for instance, last year I watched Hockey and some curling for the lulz. Other than that I didn't care. I'd gladly go watch a movie instead. Besides, it's not like you can't watch the olympics on your computer, or like you can't time it right to go see a movie multiple times when the crap "sports" are on.

The way I see it, Spidey has about 2 weeks to make as much money as possible then GTFO

Who does not love the Olympics? All of the games, challenges, and heroic moments. The only thing that the competitors are not doing is fighting for their lives, which is even more entertaining to watch, in my opinion. It is like watching a bunch of people trying to be like Batman. The only difference is that they are not hiding behind a mask.

I love the Olympics, especially the summer games, but The Olympics were held in 2008 as well and that didn't hurt The Dark Knight, so why should the Olympics hurt Nolan Batman 3?

Yeah, me. I hate the Olympics.

And it won't interfere with Batman 3 in the least.

I dont see the Olympics anywhere on this graph.

Ahhh almost time for the heavy pre-hype days.

I really hope this brings back some of the old Bat Hypers that have disappeared over the years.

Oh HELL yes.
I just found out about this today. This is what i've been waiting for. I'm already hyped and I can't begin to imagine how crazy i'm going to get over this in the coming months. The fun begins!!!!

No, the only difference is they are real people.

Seriously, the Olympics are cool and all, but each person really only likes a few events. Like I said, DANCING WITH THE STARS, got higher ratings than the Olympics. Because their other shows got higher ratings, CBS LOST MILLIONS OF DOLLARS because they aired the Olympics. People do not care that much about the Olympics. They care, as I said, about a few events. In 2008 I cared about Michael Phelps and....yea, that's about it, this year it was hockey and that's it. I don't care about the various running events, I'll probably watch some phelps.

I'm not discrediting the Olympics or those athletes, because they're amazing. I'm just saying the numbers clearly point out that people just don't care about the Olympics that much.

and I watch a lot of the summer olympics, everytime im not doing anything, or if there is a sport that i like on(wrestling, swimming, track, all of it).

but ill watch any olypmic sport, except for womens curling, and horse trotting(seriously, get that bs out of there, oh the horse is so tamed, and its got perfect timing).

i am from london and do not live too far away from where they will be

but i do not care about the olympics much

2012 for me is going to be the year the sequel to my favourite movie of all time (dark knight) was released

Man I wish I was in LA right now, getting a ticket for the event.

If I lived in LA I would be there in front seat already (OK, maybe back row is alright too)! Alas, I don't. So, is there any possibility for members who live in LA or California to try to be there and inform us firsthand? Please??:woot:

Yeah great idea, someone here can go in behalf of us.

Maybe we will get some (or none) more information about the sequel earlier than the Comicon (which personally I doubt but let's hope) in this festival. I bet Nolan receives A LOT of questions about the sequel there (see last paragraph). By the way, this event seems awesome, arghh, I would like to be there, I love Scott also!!

Man Scott and Nolan in the same room. That would be geek overload for me.

Wow... A lot of guesses here...2013, 2012, 2011... some were even "funny" enough to say 2008...

Here's the truth. Wether it be 2012 or not (which is what the studio is saying, so why all the guessing?), it all comes down to when the Nolans have a script that will be "just as meaningful and powerful as dark knight was". Honnestly, if they can't pull that off, or at least match Dark Knight - then drop it. Truthfully, TDK didn't need a conclusion to begin with anyway. But dont get me wrong, I DO wanna see that conclusion!

Agreed. I would prefer to see Nolan spending his time on fresher ideas than a franchise with 6 movies in less than 20 years. The other thing is, look what happened to the likes of Singer and Raimi. They got thrown under the bus by fanboys simply for making a couple of mediocre superhero movies, neither of which are that bad when compared with the truly terrible superhero movies like Batman & Robin. What if Nolan makes a movie that is good but not as good as BB/TDK? Does he get thrown under the bus? With the way people overreact on the Internet, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
