Remakes and Adaptations You'd Like to See

Remakes....

I dunno.. I did hear that Evolution was originally intended as a sci-fi/horror/thriller and it was turned into a comedy when Reitman came on board. I like the film but it's a good basis for a sci-fi film..

There's been some mentioned over the last couple years that, while not exactly needed, I'm not neccessarily against them... such as Drop Dead Fred and The Crow.. the english remake of Time Crimes could be cool.... and remakes of more older films such as Forbidden Planet could be cool too.

Lost in Space needs a reboot/remake..

Adaptations..

The Legend of Zelda
(loosely based on Ocarina of Time)
Produced by Peter Jackson and Del Toro.
Directed by Alfonso Cuaron or Edgar Wright
Link: Jamie Bell
Zelda: Emma Stone, Kat Dennings or Elizabeth Olsen
Gannondorf: Dwayne Johnson or Mark Strong.

- a more 'serious' (note, not meaning dark and gritty but not so 'kiddy') Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.
- Live action Thundercats.
- Gargoyles (live action)
- Mighty Max (live action)
- Pirates of Darkwater (live action)
- ReBoot (live action)
- The Enormous Crocodile. Stop motion, directed by Henry Selick.
- The Twits, directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter as The Twits.
- Monkey Island with Zach Braff as Guybrush, Zooey Deschannel as Elaine and Tim Curry as Le Chuck

I'd love a new Rocketeer movie.

One that retains the great retro 40's vibe of the original but ain't afraid of the book's slightly racier, darker elements. It'd also have slightly more of Cliff in the costume... much as I love the Disney movie, there's really not enough of that stuff in it.

Remakes, this will seem strange but i want a reboot of Star Wars more like this:

Yeah, a completelly different reimagination of the universe too.

The Crow. It needs to be done eventually and definitely has the potential to be different and more poignant than the original.

Adaptation: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Directed By Del Toro
I'd rather see Del Toro adapt the old Gargoyles animated series. There are plenty of others who could do Zelda, imo.

Yeah, definitely. While Del Toro would undoubtedly do a good Zelda i'd like to see either Alfonso Cuaron or Edgar Wright do Zelda... Del Toro doing Gargoyles would be fantastic too! Good call.

V for Vendetta was done right :o

True it didn't incorporate all the sub-plots, and maybe more could be made with a reboot but it wasn't a bad film, that's kind of my point :D

It's totally cool if you liked it and everything, I'm just saying that for me personally, yeah, I kind of depise that film.
I really would love to get into the HUNDREDS of reasons why but I went into it all so recently with somebody else, I just can't be bothered. (Heheh, god, I'm a nerd...)

A remake of Mad Max with Tom Hardy definitely.
I'd be up for that. I didn't like the first one that much, but I liked the concept, so I wouldn't mind to see it redone. I'd rather not have The Road Warrior be remade, but it's not so good it's untouchable in my eyes. And of course, they could always just make another movie about Mad Max that had a new plot.

This might be good too. I thought the original was well made but not poignant or particularly interesting.

You're aware this is actually happening, right? I think Tom Hardy just left for Nambia to begin production.

A game-accurate remake of Resident Evil that reboots the live-action series immediately springs to mind.

Metroid
Clue
The Snow Queen
The Magician's Nephew
Dante's Inferno
Remake of 12 Angry Men
The Hunger Games... Oh wait.

They actually did do this, it was a 90's TV movie starring James Gandolfini:

I'd love to see Westworld get a remake. It's got such a great concept, and the original isn't too bad, but I think with the right director it could be done a lot better.

Same for Logans Run, but from my understanding Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling are prepping it at the moment, which should be awesome.

Even with any adaptation bound to differ from the source material, IMO the RE movies are just too big a departure for me.

Yeah I completley agree, it was a simple idea that could of been tweaked slightly as to not be too predictable, but if they had stuck closer to the first RE that would of been such a great film, the characters are great, and the scenes with the nods to the old school horror/thrillers. A reboot that did this would be very welcome to a lot of people I think.

What bothers me is how Paul WS Anderson is trying to make Alice into this iconic character, when she's not.

Yup, Alice is just a Mary Swe, but it's normal that he's trying to do that, it's his wife after all.
