"The Relic" - the book was too good to receive the movie it got.:o It deserves a PROPER adaptation.

I liked the Relic.

On another note did you guys see "Southern Comfort" directed by Walter Hill. Now THAT could use a remake.

Southern Comfort kicks ass. You wan't it to be remade because...?

^ Like any film I would like to see redone...I'd like to see it remade because the story was awesome and I think with today's film technology and production values they could improve on it.

Daredevil. Not so much a remake as a re-imagining like Batman Begins or (presumably) The Incredible Hulk.

I'd be fine with an Escape From NY remake, but not if Gerard Butler is involved.

Clash of the Titans & Jason & The Argonauts

DRACULA! I know there s been a lot of remakes. A new one would be great and I want the Wachowski Brothers to direct it

Part of me wants to see a remake of 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari' by Tim Burton. That's all I thought while seeing the film, which was amazing. Maybe it was just thinking of the possible poster and cast:

Caligari really did remind of Cobblepot.

To watch the film check out the youtube vid below:

Now the original film was BRILLIANT, but all through watching it I wanted to see what Tim Burton would do if he remade the film. The styles are also almost completely the same that I think it may have been his key inspiration to get into the biz or at least to his style of film making approach.

THE FLY. the old one (1958) I really liked it! The one in 1986 was good as well.

I liked the Relic.

You liked the movie, or the book?:yay:

Either way, I'm sorry I came off so adamant about disliking the movie - I gotta realize that there are those that DO appreciate the movie more than I did. It's just that I loved the book so much, the movie seemed to pale in comparison quite a bit for me.:csad:

^ I never read The Relic. I had never even heard of it and when I saw the movie the first time I thought it was an enjoyable Monster flick. It doesn't hold up well today but back then it was cool.

Definitley check out Reliquary, a sequel of sorts to The Relic. The subplot about the mole-people was excellent. A remake of the The Relic, faithful to the book, would be grand. Hell, a series of movies in the universe created by Preston and Child would be wonderful.

DEFINITELY agree here. I know not everyone's a fan of his, but I personally think Christopher Nolan would do a wonderful job with a series of movies based on that book canon. Especially ones like "Cabinet of Curiosities" and "Book of the Dead" and whatnot.

Maybe not "Ice Limit" - someone else might have to handle that one.:oldrazz:

But as far as the Pendergast books go...I myself would be most pleased with Nolan at the helm.:word:

As for Advanced Dark's Journey to the Center of the Earth suggestion - that too is a great idea. And yes, having it set in its proper period would definitely be best for that story (in my opinion as well).

I never ever thought about Nolan helming such films. Maybe we could have more flashbacks to the Pendergast homestead. Such an enigmatic place. He might have some trouble with Wheel of Darkness though. Hell, even I had trouble with it.

We must have Still Life with Crows. My favorite in the series thusfar.

Any of these old monster flicks like Clash of the Titans and Journey to the Center of the Earth would be some kickass entertainment for the summer season.

It's a joke man, wanted to see how people would respond. :woot:

I figured you were kidding. I can see that storyline being remade decades from now but it's way way way to soon. It's not like it lacked a budget or in any department for that matter.

See this is one of those films that I would agree a remake isnt needed not just because it isnt that old but because the overall quality has held up over time. There wasnt much dependence on effects except for maybe in 2, over all story, acting, musical score is all high quality. So no to a remake, to a re-imagining of it maybe.

A remake of Back to the Future would be terrible. They'd put it in current times so Marty would then travel to the 70s, and that would just suck. Marty traveling to the 50s is the only way to do it. I'd rather someone just come up with their OWN time travel film instead of remaking BTTF.

Anyway, not a remake per se, but I want more Conan films, based on the other books and all.

I would make a remake of the phatom. its a superhero movie. they could updated it.
