Now that Hollywood is seemingly targeting the 90's, what do/don't you want to see?

Ok so in the past decade or so we've seen Hollywood go through the 60's-80's for fodder for remakes and reboots and franchise ideas from all sorts of places which can turn out quite good(The Jump Street movies and Planet of the Apes are examples) and bad(Transformers, GI Joe, Footloose and many many more), what would or wouldn't you like to see Hollywood target from the 90's given that Goosebumps, Power Rangers and Captain Planet are well in their sights?

Off the top of my head, what are everyone's thoughts on a 21 Jump Street take on:

or seeing as Goosebumps is a-go, what about its rival in the 90's kids books scene?:

or maybe a live-action:

I think these are wishful thinking and a little far-fetched:

One I would not want to see touched:

I think the Baywatch one is already in talks/development. For that one, and I have said this in the Baywatch movie thread already, I hope that the majority of the cast is younger/hot (mix of people with comedy skills like Channing Tatum and Olivia Munn and pure eye candy like Kate Upton), but that the main character (the Hasselhoff/Mitch role) is played by Will Ferrell in a Speedo, playing it straight in the face of how ridiculous it all is.

Superhuman Samurai Cyber Squad, Reboot, Biker Mice From Mars, and Exo Squad are all crying out for live action cinematic adaptations.

;-)

I could see that happening especially if they got Lord & Miller. :lmao: That cast would fit the 21 Jump St tone beautifully. You could also set up a nice Hoff cameo.

As for the project itself as far I can see, the project's in development hell atm.

Not 90's forgive me, but I've always thought a live action G-Force / Battle of the Planets film would be a killer, this is an animated series from late 70's for those old enough to remember - slight de-rail, sorry...

If done right how about Mummies Alive? also Pokémon could be cool if done right loved the first season.

The only way to get Pokemon done right is if they took an Avatar approach to it and how many years did it take for James Cameron to make the first one and how long are the subsequent sequels are taking?

3D, Live-action adaptations of Digimon, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi Oh! would be great.

Also, I second the Mummies Alive! suggestion.

I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been a live action Pokemon movie yet to be honest

I want a G-Force/Battle of the Planets movie SOOOOOOOOO bad.

I would love to see a live-action Digimon movie.

Hollywood will insist that we are nostalgic for the 90's, and the public will insist that we are not. I am reminded of Jim Lee, after all of the 80's comics became hits again and movies etc....Jim Lee just flat out announced that we all are nostalgic for the 90's and the return of WildC.A.T.S. would kick off the trend...and then no one bought his crappy book. The fact is that the entertainment just wasn't as good in the 90's as it was in the 80's. The truth is that there are still undeveloped 80's properties like Thundercats and Masters of the Universe that are cooler than whatever 90's stuff could be done.

I'd say that the potential for success is in stuff like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Magic: The Gathering...maybe Pokemon, since I kept hearing that kids loved that back in the day, but I never cared enough to really find out what that was.

I'd like to see:

-A Jumanji miniseries.
-A Lone Gunmen feature film. A blend of Sherlock and The Winter Soldier.
-Another film set in the Nightmare Before Christmas Universe, preferably solely in Halloweentown. A Prequel?
-Lost Highway miniseries on HBO.
-An Early Edition film.

Ok this didn't came out in the 90's but I think it ended in the 90's and I'm surprised Disney hasn't made it yet live action cgi Ducktales!

Pirates of Dark Water movie

I wouldn't mind a Sliders TV reboot, wouldn't be as good as the original but would still be fun

Powerpuff Girls CGI movie

Id so see that with that cast.

Um, we need a Thundercats and a proper He-man movie before we can rightfully move on to the 90's. :o

.

They have been trying to get a Jonny Quest movie made for over 20 years.

The Donners had the rights in the mid 90's.

In 2009 Zac Efron and Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson were reported to have been attached as Jonny Quest and Race Bannon with Peter Segal directing.

Budgeting issues meant the brakes were put on the production.

Why not?

And there are plenty of things that are not "practical" that get turned into movies anyway

Because the only way it could get proper justice is if they went for Avatar level CG in visual effects and Creature design to make sure every nook and cranny doesn't get scrutinized by fans. I'm not saying a proper live action Pokemon can't happen but it will take years to produce. It's the same with Digimon as well.

Power Rangers says sup. :p

CG or live action Gargoyles!

Live action The Tick, although it may be to late for Warburton and the rest. Don't know if I need to see others in the role.

Live action Batman Beyond.

Live Action Captain Planet and the Planeteers Yeah I went there.:oldrazz:

D.Camp already mentioned, the underrated Exosquad.

c music mentioned Carmen Sandiego which I second!
