A remake of Back to the Future would be terrible. They'd put it in current times so Marty would then travel to the 70s, and that would just suck. Marty traveling to the 50s is the only way to do it. I'd rather someone just come up with their OWN time travel film instead of remaking BTTF.

Anyway, not a remake per se, but I want more Conan films, based on the other books and all.

The hard thing about remaking BTF is the whole cast was so damn good up and down, their chemistry, and everything. It still holds up to today's films. I'm sure though that one day they could retell the story in amazing ways we never thought of.

superman 2 although technically that was spidey 2 :o

ok, I only read page one, so I HOPE this has been discussed once again, but Spidey comics dealt with the whole "Spider-Man no more" angle way before Superman 2 ever came out. It was a loose adaptation of decades of Spider-Man comics, not Superman 2 (possibly the most overrated superhero film of all time)

Superman 2 was awesome when it came out. I watched it earlier in the year and it was laughable but understandably compared to today's films.

they need to wait another ten years before they even touch back to the future as a remake

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I'd love a GOOD Highlander movie. The concept kicks ass, and the first film hinted at greatness, but fell short.

How about they wait another ten years and then STILL not touch it.:wow:

Unheard of...I know!

Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale are the actual owners of the names in BTTF, they don't own the movie or content but they do own the names "Marty McFly, Doc Brown, Biff Tannon, Clara Clayton, etc." And I highly doubt they'd allow them for use in a remake so even if Universal did remake it, it wouldn't be a 'real' remake.:o

Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts make the list but no Sinbad?? What gives?

Good point, I was just watching one of the Sinbad movies this past weekend. It would be interesting to see a remake, but once again it would be hard to recapture that "movie magic" of the times when it was made.

Hmm just remember Disney did do a Sinbad cartoonmovie, does that count? hehe

sinbad movies have been remade, it's called the pirates of the carribean trilogy...

:o

I'm not talking particularly about rehashing a plot, it was just the logical progression of spidey 2 seemed to follow so closely with the superman 2 plot while managing to update it for the modern day audience.

but like everything, the original in this case did a better job of it.

heck,i'm not even a superman fan but that end speech to the president is ****ing awesome...

No, just because both movies have pirates in them and the pirate is the good guy that doesn't make them the same, they are completely different. Feel free to support your argument that they are the same with some examples.

One of the movies I like to see remade that I think they can improve one is racing movie called

that was a tongue in cheek statement.:hyper:

Part of me wants to see a remake of 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari' by Tim Burton. That's all I thought while seeing the film, which was amazing. Maybe it was just thinking of the possible poster and cast:

Caligari really did remind of Cobblepot.

To watch the film check out the youtube vid below:

Now the original film was BRILLIANT, but all through watching it I wanted to see what Tim Burton would do if he remade the film. The styles are also almost completely the same that I think it may have been his key inspiration to get into the biz or at least to his style of film making approach.

Tim Burton styles his work after this and a few other films, no remake PLEASE, the political situation is integral to this film, which is one of the greatest ever made.

the host.. the thing.. starship troopers

The Host...yes.
The Thing...sequel not another remake.
Starship Troopers...yes but make it epic like the book and don't finish the whole damn storyline in one film.

Remake Daredevil...or reboot rather. Make it the way it should be made.

I was watching Darkman last night, it could definitely benefit from a remake. Liam Neeson did good with his role but much of the cast wasnt very good. There were many shots where the camera angles were just terrible, but it was early in Rami's career so he can be forgiven hehe. And the compositing was pretty bad in a few places as well.

Now one thing I caught that was done extremely well, were the pyro technics, the scene where Darkman is running ontop of the building and explosions are going off. The timing was perfect and the stuntman did one hell of a job reacting to each explosion.

I would like to see a remake maybe take place more in a 30's or 40's type environment, the costume designs of Darkman/Peyton just had that feel.
