Horror Resident Evil Reboot

Pretty good so far. Guess this means a trailer is coming soon.

The director of Resident Evil's last movie was 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. A movie that literally has a fish SCREAMING underwater. Doesn't inspire a ton of confidence.

Feels a lot like we're getting another Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins here.

Interview with the director and new images from the film.

Looks like cosplay. :hehe:

Ehhhh

Those pics make it seem that we are getting a low budget almost SyFy levels of a movie. Hope the trailer is good because I am just not feeling those pictures

I saw one person worrying that we'd have another Doom Annihilation on our hands, based off these pics.

In PS1 Chris voice: "Barry. Where's Barry?"
Exposed shoulders for Jill make me think they aimed for the Arranged mode outfit for her.

Thank. God.
Iconic? Alice? What?

If it's anywhere near as funny as Lara Croft punching a shark underwater in the Cradle of Life I'm all for watching it for a good laugh.

Also if that's supposed to be Tom Hopper as Wesker, not impressed.

Huh... The costumes, especially Leon's, look very cheap.
I see your point. And that shot of the Spencer Mansion does kinda look like it was taken from the remake, literally using a pre-rendered background.

If we're lucky, this could be one of the most pleasant bad fan films made for theaters.

Cramming RE1 and RE2 together in one movie was an odd choice since the get-go. I don't hate it, but I'm not an advocate of this decision.

The reason you don't cram RE1&2 together is because it makes no sense. RE2&3 are the storylines that happen almost concurrently with each other.

How do you create a narrative that combines both games and introduce all those characters into one movie? You'd basically need 3 and a half to four hours to do it. Not to mention introducing concepts of STARS, Umbrella, T-Virus, the Spencer Mansion, Raccoon City, the mysterious deaths, the zombies, the other monsters, the Tyrant, and that's all just in the first game.

Now you want to smoosh it together with the second game which itself is happening right on top of the third game where Jill is trying to escape? It makes no sense.

It really does make zero sense how they've chosen to approach this. Reboot movie 1 should've been wholly based on Resident Evil 1, and focused on Jill (as our protagonist), unravelling the mystery behind the horrors this mansion...

Which would obviously be the T-Virus, but we wouldn't know that yet! The marketing could've played this (the mystery) up. You could've saved soooo much on budget, whilst still delivering on the goods with creatures such as

- Plant 42
- Lisa Trevor
- Tyrant (1.0)
- Wesker

That's more than enough for ONE film, and it doesn't need a HUGE budget because the assets are focused. But now, they have to fit in at least some of the above elements, whilst also doing characters like Mr. X/Tyrant, Birkin (and his various forms), G, and the whole thing with Chief irons.

It just doesn't make sense to me :funny:

The photos don't inspire confidence, but I'm still hoping it's good. I need a trailer ASAP.

There's so much you don't get from a picture/still that you don't get from a piece of film.

Again, doesn't inspire confidence, but I'll wait for a trailer.

I'm glad this got a hard R rating and hopefully the director lives up to his word that this movie is a solid mix of old school practical effects and CGI, but these stills aren't enough to get anybody excited anymore.

That trailer needs to drop ASAP!!!!
