Horror Resident Evil Reboot

I read all those books back in the day. In fact I still have them in a box somewhere. Thought about re-reading them but assumed they would not age well.
I reread them pretty recently (well, Umbrella Conspiracy, City of the Dead and Nemesis). I thought they were still pretty fun, well told and well adapted from the games.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Synopsis Revealed

"Once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever…changed…and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night."

Not a fan of the title. But still optimistic. I'm really hoping this is good. I need a trailer.

I really hope this is good. We are starting to get a huge boom of good to ok video games movies. Resident evil needs to be a win

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Currently Undergoing Reshoots

The news of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City currently being in the process of reshooting comes directly from Chris Redfield himself--or at least his actor. Robbie Amell, who is portraying the Redfield in the forthcoming film, said in a live stream on Twitch that he has stepped back into the character's shoes recently. "I'm actually back in Toronto for Resident Evil reshoots," Amell said while on Twitch. "So I'm back in Chris Redfield mode."

Yeesh at that title. Just call it RESIDENT EVIL

That's just a needless mouthful.

I'm excited for this.

A Resident Evil film, possible new film series that will actually put more focus on original content and characters has me very intrigued.

No more skimpy clothed Milla Jovavich running around pretending to be Trinity from the Matrix and that makes me soooo happy!

The first Resident Evil movie was somewhat enjoyable, even the second one had is moments but I was always left feeling empty because it didn't feel like Resident Evil. change some villains names and looks and you'd never have known to begin with. I couldn't even watch the rest of the series. I know I watched the first two films and I believe Apocalypse but cant even remember much of that.

Anyway, mark me down as excited and hoping for a good and true Resident Evil series.

Yesterday, I binge-watched all six of the RE movies and while they were all bad, I still enjoyed some them in a dumb fun kind of way. I like the first one the best, as it’s the only one that kind felt closets to a traditional zombie movie. The rest of the movies are trashy, hokey, convoluted messes with horribly staged action sequences, terrible dialogue and some really bad acting...but I still was kind of entertained weirdly enough but they’re not movies I’m eager to revisit anytime soon.

That being said, I don’t have much interest in the reboot since I don’t like the director they’ve hired and the same producers who were involved in the previous movies are doing this. Because of this, I’m a bit surprised that some are legit excited for this. Now don’t get me wrong, I think the cast is good and all, and this is apparently more faithful to the games but that doesn’t mean much to me as I’ve never played the games, and I don’t feel being faithful to a source material automatically means the movie is going to be good. I’m not even cautiously excited for this as I’m pretty much expecting a mediocre-to-bad movie.

Imagine if after all the people worried or talking **** about this possibly being bad, it turns out to be a sleeper hit out of nowhere.

Hope ViewerAnon is right about this one.

I don't trust ViewerAnon.

I actually love the first movie so much. I think it’s great. And Milla just created such an iconic character. But it was its own thing. It wasn’t really Resident Evil as I knew it - the previous movies never captured the game and the feelings I got when playing the game (that’s not a criticism I think it just went in a different direction). I wanted to go back to the horror of it all. I wanted scares and atmosphere rather than full-on action.

Thank. God.
