If its a Resident Evil movie, I want to see characters from the videogames. It doesn't need to be a direct/faithful adaptation of the videogames, but I want actual RE characters, not made for movie characters only.

My excitement for this has shot up big time after watching Weapons.

It’s a real shame we had the previous adaptations as without them I think Cregger would use the likes of Jill, Leon, Chris and Claire. I think this will be a good movie. I’m just not sure it will be a good RE movie.

This could end up being phenomenal.

Sounds good so far, excited, but I also was before Welcome To Raccoon City came out. I'll wait for a trailer or some set pics or such.

But still more hopeful for this than Street Fighter. Seems to have a solid creative foundation compared to that.

Severance breakout Zach Cherry, True Detective co-star Kali Reis and Johnno Wilson (I Love That for You) have joined the cast of Resident Evil, Sony Pictures and Zach Cregger’s reboot of the venerable horror franchise.

Plot details for this one are being kept under the umbrella but here are some key words: hapless courier, mysterious package, mutated creatures, corporate conspiracy.

Cherry is said to be playing a scientist at a hospital, while Reis is an ex-military character that was originally written for a male actor. Wilson’s role is not known.

The feature begins shooting mid-October in Prague. Sony Pictures is releasing the project theatrically on Set. 18, 2026
