Appearently he had been ill for some time and it was expected. I had no idea though and it was a surprise. The man defied expectations though and lived to 83 despite being told he wouldn't survive puberty.

I know the phrase right in the childhood gets used a lot, but this passing of such a cool iconic character actor is RIGHT IN THE CHILDHOOD. I LOVED him in Time Bandits as well as Star Wars, I totally forgot he played an Ewok in Jedi too.
