The Rise of Skywalker Rise of Skywalker Leaks and Spoilers thread

Ben is literally giving Rey his life force to heal or resurrect her. Its cheesy, but I dont think it's the sort of thing . I wouldnt flip out if someone kissed me after or while giving me their own life force to bring me back to life.

Plus we dont really know the mechanics of all this. Maybe the life Force is transferred from mouth to mouth. A force version of mouth to mouth resuscitation.

What I do have a problem with is Rey killing Sidious by deflecting lightning back at him. Has Sidious gone so senile that he doesnt remember Mace deflecting his lightning with his lightsaber and melting his face?

I'm just going to really hope they got this one wrong, because I'm honestly going to be really disappointed if that's our ending. In the meantime, I'm going to hope that the fact the piece titled 'Family' heavily featuring
a new version of Kylo's theme
means this might still go where I'd like it to.
You know what I hope for, but at this moment we really need to just let it go and if we are happily surprised, then great!

It's not. Rey heals multiple things in the movie, never with her mouth. This isn't Steven Universe. :funny:

Palps let Mace injure him, is how I always took that. Mace couldn't be the Emperor. Hell, Yoda couldn't. But the Emperor wasn't trying to kill Mace there. He was looking to win over Anakin. And Mace was the perfect mechanism to do that.

So with the leaks of palpatine channeling all past sith to speak, this new spot jut dropped and palpatines voice sounds very different than ian.

This is what they said:

It is pretty ambiguous. He's not really alive. It's pretty horrific in that he's basically a corpse-puppet on some sort of rigging, but he's able to speak through the body via his spirit. He's also "all the souls of the past Sith" in the body. Eventually, he manages to restore life to the body though. I can't recall if they directly mention how the body was still intact, but it was a sort of, horror-mad-scientist lab, so it might not be his original."

Did he splinter his spirit across 7 horcruxes?

These leaks are f***kin terrible. lol, they're so bad. :lmao:

I hope they're not true, but at the same time, I get flashbacks of Leia dead in space, then resurrecting and Supermaning her way back to a ship. Anything is possible at this point.

I dont see where the leaks are bad tbh. And a lot of it depends on execution

I've been doing some thinking about Sidious, and I think we've been looking at this wrong.

Rumors, leaks, and marketing have all indicated that Sidious would return. Hell, we heard Ian's voice in the trailers and early tv spots. It's all pointed to Sidious having survived the events of ROTJ. But one of the latest tv spots has Sidious speaking but it no longer sounds like Ian's Sidious. It sounds quite different.

The latest rumors and leaks and rating descriptions indicate this thing is not shown fully from the front, it has fangs and is demonic, and that it contains the spirits of many Sith Lords. The assumption has been that Sidious is possessed by these Sith Lords or they are tagging along for the ride. But I dont think that's the case. I dont think this thing is actually Sidious or that Sidious is running the show. I think this thing is for lack of a better name, "Legion". I think its its own entity born from the spirits and malevolence of all those dead Sith Lords.

I think it wants to rule the galaxy. To do that it needs a body that isnt rotting away and an army to conquer the galaxy. So it uses Sidious's corpse like a meat puppet tand acts like it is Sidious, because it knows the Imperials will blindly serve Sidious. That gives it an army. Once it has Ben and Rey together I think it drops the charade entirely and stops acting like it is Sidious. I think that's when its fanged and demonic true face is seen. It then uses Ben and Rey to rejuvenate the corpse of Sidious so that it wont keep rotting.

And maybe the Snoke clones were an early attempt to create a body that would last. Also I have to wonder if the Snoke clones were so physically deformed and twisted because they were created from the genetic material of Sidious's possessed rotting corpse.

You know, that sounds pretty cool to me...but for that to work we would have needed more than one movie.
A bit more build up, hints and stuff...palpatines whole plot that might or might not happen in TROS feels a bit forced to me because we had nothing that builds up to that.
Nothing that felt as big as a palpatine plot should feel imo.

Other than that i still dont see what peoples problem with the leaks is if they are true.
At this point people should accept that this will not go their way, either accept that or move on...but continuing to complain will not change that its a done deal.
Johnson despite his efforts to do something really different and unique, threw a wrench into this trilogy, you cant go back on that.
The leaks i read do the best they can to salvage and make the best of it.

What would people do different?
All i heard so far is complaining and going "everything would have been better than this" but what?
How would people go from TLJ and do better?
Not slamming anybody here, but its a genuine question...do people have better ideas?

I see what’s going on here, you’ve been huffing paint and watching Exorcist III again haven’t you Marv?

There's a new clip that was shown in Japan at a fan event. Someone on Twitter has a description of it in a few different tweets

Now that mando-ops reddit user is saying the new ending with Ben crawling back out of the hole to kiss Rey and die again is false. :funny:

Friendship ended with JediPraxis, now mando-ops is my friend.
