I think they can, but it all depends on the money and talent you got on your team.

But seriously, I think Sony gets work b/c they're local (in LA)* and they are owned by a big company. Maybe discounts.

*ILM is in Northern Cali, WETA in New Zealand, Double Negative and Framestore in the UK. There isn't a whole lot of 'big' VFX companies in LA anymore.

After watching this I admit I'm a little more interested. I mean after the horrible sequels, and terrible re-make I kinda lost hope for another film like Planet of the Apes (1968) but I do hope this film is at least good. It sounds more interesting then it originally sounded.
