I think they expect us to kind of be more dazzled by a serious drama that features excellent CG characters as opposed to just using them as special effects action setpieces.

My guess is there are two big set pieces (the battle in the forest and the battle at the military base), probably at the beginning and the end. We'll see how "slow" it is.

I think they are way way off on this. War is getting like even better reviews then Dawn did and is coming off a better movie in Dawn then Dawn was coming off of in rise so I think this movie has more hype then rise and will do much better.

I hope you're right because personally I thought that estimate was pretty low too. With the way nonstop action movies like Transformers underperformed, I think this might be just what the summer needs. It does have Spiderman opening a week before working against them as not everyone rushes out opening weekend, but who knows. I hope War makes more money than Dawn.

Troll removed.

I wondered. He was popping up making a fuss over at The Last Knight and the Spider-Man threads over trivial stuff.

Anyway, can't wait to see this. Best friend and I watched both Rise and Dawn in the theater, so I'll see if I can convince him to watch this one as well.

I want to know who the female ape with the necklace is, because it's not Cornelia.

Caesar's side chick.

Oh hey, I didn't notice this got another Rotten on the Tomatometer. Too bad, that 96 was looking awful nice.

Wonder if it will still end higher than Dawn.

Caesar wouldn't do that. :funny:

Yeah, the newest rotten one is all bent out of shape because the film is bleak. Maybe it'll grab a few more positive ones to boost it?

If we're talking about the latest rotten I've just read, then wow. I don't even want to read that guy's full review, that last sentence was so stupid.

Summer movies need to be fun, dammit. :cmad:

That newest rotten review hated the all the POTA movies. Why even bother watching?

He also gave Book of Henry and the Mummy reboot fresh ratings, so there's also that.

About its boxoffice tracking I just saw this about how it is belived it could maybe do more then some are saying and could maybe do a 70-80m OW. I think that number is more realistic.

I started reading Revelations
I like that a lot of it is from Blue Eyes' point of view, but it makes me even more sad knowing he dies so early in the film

Here's an incredible clip of Serkis giving a monologue that slowly fades into Caesar. The performance and the technology have come so far. This video is incredible.

Who the ef cares. MoS was the best CBM since TDK and it's 55%, 6.2/10. Stop this "one percent lower/higher than yesterday" bulls**t. It does not matter.

Forrest Gump is f***king 72%, 7.2/10 and it's one of the best films ever. Now compare that to MCU flicks, fricking stupid Doctor Strange has better score, RT is totally demented.

Thanks for the effort, this was already posted 1-2 pages behind.

Put your learning cap on. RT.com is an aggregator. It's a site that gathers data. Critics submit their reviews and tell RT whether their review is rotten or fresh. Then RT.com divides the Fresh by the total number of reviews. That gives them the percentage. It's not demented. It's basic math.

Forest Gump has 72% because there are 85 total reviews and 61 fresh reviews. Sixty one divided by 85 is 72%.

Doctor Strange has 90% because there are 293 total reviews and 262 fresh reviews. Two hundred and sixty two divided by 293 is 90%.

Captain America Civil War has 90% because there are 343 total reviews and 310 fresh. Three hundred and ten divided by 343 is 90%.
