Rise of the Planet of the Apes

I know we should wait until the movie comes out so we can judge, but I think that Rise of the Planet of the Apes could be a great addition to this franchise.

I'm sorry to be the voice of dissent but not only do I think that this movie will not be good I also think that it will bomb. Those pictures look silly as f**k to me and the idea for the movie sounds even siller.

You want to know what's more ridiculous? That we haven't seen any footage yet from The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.

so cause your not interested in it,then you think it'll bomb&not be good(not like that's a fact anyway of being good or bad)and that so many others will feel the same??

I don't know about LOTR or especially Avatar success,But I think there's potential to satisfy some hardcore fans with some GA eating it all up!

But it's just way too early to tell even Box Office success when the teaser is not even out yet!!

Actually, the plot is fantastic, IMO. If I had the resources to, I'd try to find a cure for Alzhimers. My grandma is suffering from it and has the worst form of it. I can totally relate to this on a personal level.

Maybe Caesar will find a way to make them all smart......and stuff.

Nowhere in my post did I say that the movie was going to bomb just because I think that it looks bad. Those are two totally independent thoughts.

question, do the humans just wipe themselves out and the apes survive? Intelligent or not, I just don't understand how and endangered species overtakes a population of 7 billion.

From what I heard (and I could be mistaken, but I believe it might have come from an early script review) along with the apes attempted takeover, there is also a virus/plague/epidemic/really bad stuff that begins to infect the humans around the same time of the ape takeover. The super virus-thing eventually wipes out the humans, thus allowing Caesar to assume full control of the planet.

I think I remember reading this for the Genesis: Ape a.k.a. Caesar script, but I could be mistaken.

Maybe Caesar&his fellow Apes releases some virus/plaque from Franco's character's facility??and it gets bigger and Apes are immune for some reason!?
