Robin Hood

Well duh, the first trailer was horribly edited and made lol. Does not mean the movie will be bad.

To me this trailer is a million times better, and excites me more. For sure no matter what I will see this. I love Ridley.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the first teaser already has over 800,000 views on Youtube.:wow:

I'm getting the sense that this movie is going to have to stand on the script and the acting. The production design looks like what we've seen before in other films, and we all already know the basic story of Robin Hood. Ridley's going to have to give us a really unique take on the mythos, and the actors are really going to have to give quality, character-driven performances.

It looks interesting...i'm not sure I'm sucked in yet though. I guess i'm just a little tired of Robin Hood...I think it's time they took it to the future. :)

I don't think it will suck. It is Ridley you know. Accept that wine country movie. What the hell was that?!

Really digging the new trailer. Crowe looks intense, and it looks like their going to delve into the political struggle with King John here, which was ignored in the Costner version. I don't know how it will do, box office wise... after The Lord of the Rings, people seem to want more magic and SFX to go with their epics, but maybe visual spectacles like Clash of the Titans and Avatar, a dose of medieval realism will appeal to the masses.

And while it's true that Robin Hood has been done many times before... the Costner film, which was the last big budget Hollywood attempt at the story, came out nearly 20 years ago (man, that makes me feel old... I saw it in the theater). And since many fans have negative attitudes toward that film, a movie that (possibly) gets Robin Hood right could really appeal to people.

I thought it was a good trailer, but then I liked the teaser, too. Prince John or the Sheriff (whoever was speaking in the trailer) looks like a nasty villain. I'm still not wild about the age of the cast and Maid Marion being a warrior is rather odd. Where would she have learned how to shoot an arrow?

To shoot deer maybe. :oldrazz:

Yea I am not the biggest fan of Cate, but the rest of the cast seems pretty good. I'm sure it will be entertaining at least.

Noblewomen often shot deer? :oldrazz:

When she wants deer, she wants deer now!!!! :hehe:

Or maybe they shoot at their slaves for fun I dunno. Noblewomen get crazy, they would have had a reality show on MTV back in the day. Real Noblewomen or something like that. :woot:

Like her or not... she's one of the best actors in that cast.

She's good no doubt, I just don't care for her much at times. But Crowe *I know many hate him for his personal ways* but I do love him as an actor, and he's up there too.

Hmm. I wanted to be excited about this but it somehow looks like a step down from the Jonas Armstrong series. :( Sure, it's dramatic and realistic and all but, eh...it reminds me of why I hated the middle ages. It's just, I dunno, drab.

I was already excited and enjoyed the first trailer, but man that international trailer was freakin' awesome!

Crowe look great!

How old are you? :wow:

^^Is that a photoshop of Maximus shooting an arrow? Kidding. :)

This movie makes me want a Robin Hood video game; no, not a movie game. Just a game about Robin Hood--swordplay, shooting arrows, the old anti-hero--''stealing from the rich and giving to the poor'', are you kidding, FTW! lol

Nevertheless, looking forward to this film. Been ages since watching that one from Costner and I enjoyed the one from Brooks.

The international trailer is better than the US one but I'm still not feeling this, and why is Marion in armour going into battle?

Thankfully, the king/Sherif of Nottingham in this film is not going to be like the one from Disney's take on Robin Hood, where he was a big crybaby of a wuss. All I can say about this. That and Ridley Scott ROCKS!

i think that was the point. i think for a robing hood movie this works
