Robin Hood

This is a doomed project if these Crowe rumours are true, and the double role thing pretty much wipes out the original interesting hook, Ridley should ditch this and move onto one of the more interesting projects he has lined up.

I love Crowe to death, but this movie sounds horrible! I hate the double role thing. UGH!

It's a definite upgrade, but the story sounds terrible at the moment.

You know though Leo did a good job in Man In The Iron Mask playing twin brothers one good the other evil. If leo can do it Russell can as well.

That's different. Leo was playing two different characters, physically and mentally(in one of the few movies where I though Leo was a decent actor). Crowe's supposed to be playing Robin and Sheriff as the same person if I'm not mistaken.

Whether Robin and the Sheriff are the same guy or not, it's stupid.

Leo played twins, so of course that works.

Damn, I was hoping this project would just die, Ridley has so many more interesting ones on his "to do" list.
I wish he would do another Alien film. But I also think it's time for a good Robin Hood movie, it's been a while since Errol Flynn or Sean Connery in "Robin and Marian" (probably my 2 favourite RH movies). Robert Shaw, best Nottingham sheriff ever imo.

But this doesn't look to be a good Robin Hood movie.

And Cary Elwes was a great Robin.:o

The whole thing is really stupid. You have some great talents here... why waste them with such a stupid premise?

Ridley Scott - could make a great Robin Hood movie

Mark Strong - could make a great Guy of Gisbourne

Cate Blanchett - could make a great Maid Marian

Russell Crowe - could make a great Robin Hood OR Sheriff of Nottingham... but not BOTH!!

This whole thing wreaks of "Quest of the Delta Knights." If you're not familiar, it was a really stupid sword and sorcery movie that would up on Mystery Science Theater 3000. David Warner played the heroic mentor to the main character, and also played the villain. No explanation was ever given as to why both of these guys looked exactly alike. It was one of many, many bad things about that movie.

I love the idea of Crowe as the Sheriff of Nottingham in a sympathetic version. I hate the idea of him playing RH as well. Though I'd be okay with him as Robin Hood against someone else, I like the original idea I heard for this movie.

I liked the original take better where the Sheriff was portrayed as misunderstood and the good guy. Now I guess it's just a straight Robin Hood flick...

Okay, now I'm REALLY confused...

But it sounds to me like the film may be similar to the Errol Flynn version, in which the Sheriff is a minor character and Robin takes on Prince John.

Or perhaps it deals more with the aftermath of the Norman conquest of England. Hell, I don't know. I don't think Scott or Crowe know what the hell they're doing at this point. But in the end, it sounds like we will end up getting something better than a stupid Robin-Hood-is-Tyler-Durden movie or whatever the hell they were planning.

Just pull a Fight Club and have them both be the same guy, damn.

All this messing around and now it's just gonna be another Robin Hood movie. :facepalm

You want a sexy Robin Hood ? but yeah Crowe doesn't really look like any version of the legend ive read or seen.

So we can now add this to the list of reboots. Though technically it ain't a reboot because the last one is about two decades old, but why argue semantics, I always say.
